AT&T's service isn't bad... but it's no longer as great as it once was. While the internet aspect of it seems ok, it is highly dependent upon the lines that it comes in on. I continue to have problems with my lines suffering from static which result in DSL disconnects, even after doing a complete rewire of my internal house wiring (Cat5e now).
Telephone support is often misinformed, and I'd recommend doing **ALL** Technical support thru the SBC Direct forums, here.
If you must use technical support via telephone, try to get a 2nd level tech.
