    My Other Reviews·Charter Pipeline
Updated 3/07/2008 - Cable is kicking your ass in my area AT&T. Where is uVerse? Why did I help you lobby for new franchising rules? Pick up the pace!

Updated 1/13/2008 - Farewell my good old friend dsl! I have enjoyed our two and a half years together. Cable is going to have to work hard to match your reliability and stability.

I just cannot drive down the i at 55 any longer.

Updated 10/26/07 - Wow! Got help from an uber asi tech here at dslreports who helped me ramp my 1.3 down/312 up rock solid dsl to 2.5 down/412 up with some leg work on my part. Still he went above and beyond! Checked out Charter Cable again. Bah. Almost 2 years later and they still leave a bad taste in my mouth. Still I had to ponder test driving until I discovered that AT&T's dsl price still beats Charter Cable in my area by about 25% in my case. Charter should take note that upload speeds and no packet loss are important. Keep up the damn fine work and roll out that next gen network AT&T. You have my business and now my Cellphone business as well! Good job ASI!!

Holy Schnikes I cannot explain how happy I am to finally be rid of the Cable Co Pigopolists! $49.00 a month for Charter's HSI @ 320down/112up with huge packetloss issues in Chicago for four years which make their service not much faster than dialup depending on where you visit on the web. They compensate by offering me their 3 meg plan which I had had for the last two years for another $10.00 a month? I was happy when the price reflected their service.

In comparison AT&T (Formerly SBC) is now providing me with 1300/328 for $14.00 dollars a month with a wireless modem for $30.00 so I can play my XBox, Psp and Nintendo DS online. SOLD!!!

Downside is that after my Charter Telephone debacle I got rid of all landline communications in favor of Cellular. Thusly I had to reestablish a home phone at more unneeded expense. However that phone and the internet combined is now only $5.00 a month more than my old Charter Internet alone.

To me it was simple. Stick it to the man (Charter) for fracking with a satisfied internet customer of 5 years!

    Highly recommend AT&T

I have been a customer with at&t for the past five years. They provide solid knowledgeable and helpful service. I have had some minor problems with my dsl service but nothing that was not fixed in a timely manner and usually it can be fixed over the phone with technical support. The longest I ever went without internet service was about 3 days. I never knew how good I had it with AT&T until I switched to Cavalier telephone. I was with cavalier for less than a week before I called and switched back to AT&T. Due to Cavalier's incompetent customer service and tech support that took almost a month to happen and they are still billing me for their service even though I am now back with AT&T. I had Cavalier for almost one month and never had a working internet connection. I am now back with AT&T and a very satisfied customer. My phone and internet are working perfect. Their were a few quirks to work out with my dsl due to re-registering my account and initial start-up but nothing that was not fixed over the phone. By the third day my dsl was working 100% and I have had no further problems. Glad to be back and will never switch again.

    In reference to middlemen

Alot of these fly by night companies such as Cavalier and Tds Metrocom offer lower prices but at the expense of what? I can simplify this for anyone thinking of switching to a third party reseller. Who do you actually see during an outage working on the network? Cable and Phone company. There are currently no real third parties.

WIMAX Soon! Over the lips and through the gums, look out 4G here we come!
