Update, Mar '07: Since my fix, the connection has been excellent, AFAIK (no complaints, and I tested the line for a few months, and the only problems were a few multi-hour periods of moderate latency and congestion. I'm no longer paying for testing the line.) Spamhaus currently shows 1 ROKSO and 5 other (major, mostly large IP block) spammer infestations.

Speed was terrible, till I did this:

Reliability was terrible too (so I'm told), but it's probably fixed now. Cogent suggested there was a network problem; that's partly why I was brought in...

I was not involved in the initial install...

Paying around $800/mo for 100Mbps down/up at 500 Sansome in San Francisco.

Actually getting Internet throughput as high as 35Mbps down/up amazed me.

Annoyingly, they don't have published pricing. It's on a sleazy "let's see how much we can squeeze out of 'em basis," it seems.

»www.spamhaus.org/sbl/listings.la···ntco.com is not encouraging, however. I'll be on the lookout for spam from them.

Just to let you know there are 2 reasons why the price is not listed. #1 Because it is NOT available to the general public.Customer must be in a "lit" building. #2 The pricing is based on the length of contract. It is $1000/100 Mbps on a Month to Month, It is $900/100Mbps on a one year contract and it is $800/100 Mbps for a two year.

The price is up to the customer. Setting are usually set up wrong by the customer so they receive incorrect throughput! Thanks have a great day.

Those aren't valid reasons for not listing prices. The same goes for all DSL providers, yet they often list prices. In fact, it's more complicated for them, but they often still do it. Different customers can get different speeds, or can't get service at all, depending on how far away from the CO or RT they are (i.e. whether they're 'lit'), and what features they want.

However, it IS time I update my review.

    Re: Answers to your comments

Admitting that most customers set up your service wrong would indicate a severe problem with the communication your company provides to it's clients. At this price range, I would expect ANY company interested in a working relationship to provide AT LEAST enough support to set up your product correctly.
