    working with Earthlink support, but my connection is like dial-up. speed test often below 14.4k, paying for 6.5Mbps. a neighbor says she has a similar problem with Earthlink DSL. also they won't support my Linksys router and want me to buy a router from them and agree to another 12 months of service. very disappointed. was an original mindspring customer 10 years ago

    12 years??

    If the service has been that bad , why stay for 12 years? If you have a neighbor that is having the same problem then it is most likely a local phone co problem. I am sure they had you test the line without the router. Them trying to sell you a router was an afterthought. Anyway your problem sounds more like a local phone co problem that will persist after you leave earthlink if you go with another DSL provider. Good luck.

    and it's the ISPs responsibility to fix it. Mark you really haven't called TS, if you did they routed you to TWC support. So, you have no clue what has happened in the last 6 years at the LINK.
