Wow what a DSL experience this has been. Got Verizion DSL for 1 month trial Oct/Nov 2000, that turned into 1 month of DSL 3 and 1/2 mo of subpar customer service issues. Signed up for Bestweb as DSL reports listed them as the only local responding to my zip who had static ip.

They got my 100 dollars Nov 29th 2000. After many emails they kept my $100 in late Feb2001 and i switched my order to ACE (BestWeb still didn't have an SRD).

After an initial issue with Verizon povisioning (originally scheduled to go live March 1st went live on the 24) they got the line up and humming. It is FAST, i may upgrade to SOHO package if it stays consistant.

Their customer service has been excellent they truly care about the customer.

If you're in the NYC area i would highly recommend them unless you get Cable and don't need a static IP.

Kudos ACECAPE!

12/19 Update

After many problems recently i was able to contact ACE and get my new IP. Everything all hunky dorey again i have lowered my connection reliability but if things go well again i will update again.

1/24 Update

Umm just because i only posted 4 times does not mean that i do not check DSLR daily, i use the DSLR tools (as well as others) almost daily. I am also a network administrator for the largest insurance brokerage, and an MCSE and CCNA, working towards my next Cisco tests. So i do not like the innuendo that i am not technically savy. For those who know Agueybana was a great Arawak chieftan on the island of Puerto Rico during early Spanish occupation...how many Puerto Ricans do you know who work for ACE in all of your worldly experience with them.

Now on to the bulk of the update. After a brief good period with the new transition to above i am losing sync from time to time again as well as some packet loss. As i work all day and i go to school from 6-9 (MS in CIS) i do not have a window of opportunity to address these issues with ACE often. However the few times i have contacted them they have been curteous if curt. As i am running several test servers on my network the ability to get to them from work or school is sometimes important and when i lose sync it leaves me utterly unable to connect until i can reboot my (POS) router. Now i could buy a new router but what i am looking for is a relatively rock solid isp. I will give ACE another couple of months to hash out their problems if they cannot resolve their connectivity issues i will look into possible alternatives.

On a final note to my review's detractors my GRE scores indicate that i was in the top 20% of test takers for the verbal component, for a non native English speaker thats not to shabby. While this recent post has a few run ons and some awkward grammer please indicate were you noticed incorrect grammer in my original post. Plus in this new internet/computer society how many people do you notice taking their time to construct proper pose on what is esentially a usenet post.
