Performance Tier
3/19/13:
Performance tier has been bumped to 25/5, it's actually 27/5 reported by Shaperprobe. So far so good.

Xfinity, as Comcast now calls it, is respectably fast but it will get a bit pricey when my promo runs out. I love a speedy connection so Comcast is the only choice for true broadband.

NegotiateYou must negotiate with Comcast. When I called to stop service due to the price increase, they transferred me to the "retention department". I was paying $129/month for the triple play; they wanted to raise that to $179/month. After negotiating, I settled on a rate of $99/month. They did initiate an increase for the modem, which I have to rent (I am told I will be able to purchase it soon), from $5/month to $7/month. For two dollars, I was not about to waste my time. | |
