I had Exede installed two months ago and my experience with them has been a consumers nightmare from that point on. I was having surgery and wanted a dependable internet service that didn't require resets, as I had to do with my cellular internet service. Within a few days of having Exede installed, we couldn't get online most of the time. When I called them, they informed me that we had used 75 gigs over our allotted 15 gigs per month, and we were only six or seven days into the billing cycle. I was shocked. We were not doing anything any differently than we had done in the past. Sending and receiving emails (no large files attached), shopping online, watching an occasional Youtube video, etc. Every few days I would check my usage and it was climbing fast. When I called tech support, they told me I must have a virus or we are simply using too much bandwidth by watching videos or online gaming. I told them we were just using the internet the way we had always used it and had never went over 10 gigs.. (Part of their sales pitch was telling me how fast their online streaming of videos would be.) After first month and no resolution, our final usage was well over 300 gigs. Though they did not charge us for overage, the service was slowed down to almost non usable. I called a local technician to come to my house and take a look at what was going on. He ended up reformatting all the computers in my house to rid us of any viruses. New billing cycle, reformatted computers, and still going way over 15 gig allotted usage per month. When you go over the allotted usage, they slow you down to a crawl or you can't connect at all. I am certain we are not using the bandwidth and asked them to come back to my house and take a look at things. They told me that because I've used too much bandwidth, they can't even come out and look at it. Seriously??? I have called them at lease 8-10 times over the last month and a half and can't get past the technicians. Earlier today, I threatened to call the Better Business Bureau. Only then did the technician speak to someone higher up and then I was just told that the corporate office would look at my usage and if they thought it was a problem on their end, they would call me back, but if not they would not call. Hello??? I just want out of this contract that they vehemently keep referring me back to. Can anyone help with any suggestions as to where to turn to now? I've exhausted my resources with this company and feel that the Better Business Bureau and Consumer Protection Agency are my only resolve. By the way, I am still paying for my cellular internet as it is more stable then Exede. member for 11.4 years, driveby review (so far) lodged 11.4 years ago
