"Getting faster as time goes on. We're actually getting advertised speed now."
"here in Montbello (a lower-middle class neighborhood in Denver) we're STILL getting gypped on bandwidth"
"You get what Qwest feels like giving you. DSL took a LONG time to get here in Montbello. Even though we're on the way to DIA."

Since I moved here to Montbello, I've noticed that Qwest draaaags their feet getting DSL out here, and getting decent bandwidth out here, compared to the service the whiter subdivisions get. This stinks.

Our speed finally tested out as advertised (1200/400), but Qwest took their damn time getting the bandwidth up. Five years, people!

The old excuses about distance to our local CO are crap. This neighborhood is cheek by jowl with
    - the old Rocky Mountain Arsenal,
    - a major US Postal Service service center,
    - a US Army Reserve vehicle maintenance center,
    - Denver International Airport,
    - not far from Buckley Air Force Base and the former Lowry AFB campus.

This means we're straddling transcontinental phone lines (oh, yeah, we're right on I-70, too), AUTOVON trunk lines, Sprint pipeline conduits, you name it. If the powers that be wanted to pop for a repeater here, it'd almost be a matter of flipping a switch. Physical connectivity isn't the issue, politics is. And finally the folks here in Montbello rated the same service as everyone else in Denver. About time.

Qwest dragging their feet in Montbello

I live in Montbello (division of Denver). Guess where the light rail was built. As far as dsl is concerned as far as I am concerned its up and down. Other Montbello guy have you heard of, or have you been experiencing any dsl signal drops and outages in your area of Montbello?
