My first 6 months of qwest was quite odd. I signed up at best buy to get a router for free (or $20 after rebate which saves on rental fees) and a free $150 best buy gift card. At best buy they couldn't confirm if service was available in my area (which it was) I ended up signing up for it via best buy and buying the router etc. and then had to call qwest to get installation. I got it installed (sort of) and had service (after calling qwest and getting my username/password etc.)but never received my bills so i couldn't send in my rebate form on my router. I assumed i was being billed via my cc that i had signed up with so i figured that's why i wasn't getting bills. Well I didn't end up getting my rebate forms or bills so i guess I was out the $60 or 80 for the router or whatever it happened to be which I wasn't pleased about. Then in January my service unexpected stopped while I was on vacation. When I returned home i called qwest with my account number, dsl phone number and account name etc that i had received when i signed up and they had NO history of my account using this info or name, phone, address etc. According to them I didn't exist as a qwest customer. So, I didn't get my rebates AND my internet was cut I wasn't happy. The good news, after checking my bank account, i had NOT been charged for service. So 36.99 x 6 months of service = $221 dollars not paid. So roughly the price of a router and a best buy gift card. So i can't complain too loudly. All in all the service is good and the price is reasonable.
