My Other Reviews

·AT&T U-Verse
This is an update of my many previous reviews over the last 10 years. I am sorry I could not give Sonic a score better than 5 in all applicable categories. I have been with Sonic since 1996 and have had DSL since '99.

As always, Sonic has proven to be one of the best things since sliced bread. They are continually updating equipment and improving connectivity. They keep their customers informed about what is happening; both good and bad. Their service and support often go WELL beyond what is considered "normal." How many other companies are there where the CEO (Dane) actually answers questions for you?....and on a regular basis too! They are SO good that I also use their services to supplement my company's web site...and I work for a Fortune 500 company.

Recently (Aug 2010) Sonic got into the phone business so that they could offer more complete packages. They are now offering UNCAPPED ADSL2 plus a normal POTs line with all the frills, including free long distance, for only $50. I just had this package installed and I can now eliminate ATT and Sprint completely (finally!) This saves me a fair amount of money. I also saw increased speeds and am now getting a solid 12/1Mbps. I am actually paying $70 (instead of $50) for this because I requested 8 fixed IPs. The required phone taxes are not included in these amounts.

Sonic Rocks

Dec. 2010 Update:

Sonic just lowered the rates of their Fusion service by $10. What was already good has just become better! Fusion has not been perfect however. I had some slow downs and dropouts, but the Sonic team managed to tweak the line and it now seems stable at about 10/1mpbs.
