Update: March 2007 -
Opened a ticket with support on March 22, 2007. Called in that my DSL circuit started to loose sync for no reason. They repro'd my circuit and nothing.
Called in 3-23-07 - Dustin call creates a ticket with Covad to check status of line in the CO.
Called in 3-24-07 - James informs me that a Covad dispatch has been created to visit, and check line for any faults.
Called in 3-25-07 - Don now informs me that the dispatch has NOT been scheduled.
Called in 3-26-07 - Luke informs that a dispatch has been scheduled for 3-30-07.
3-30-07 - Covad FST (Field Service Tech) visits C.O. and finds that the line when having the line in fastpatch 1.5/384 line drops margins and within 5 min(s) modem looses sync.
3-31-07 - Covad opens a ticket to have a tech. visit C.O. and reset DSLAM card.
04-01-07 - Covad tech. "changes card" but still line is dropping every few min(s).
Today is now 04-16-07 and the line is still having problems, with two on site visits from AT&T, they clear the line - MLT tests with no problems at 14,100 feet.
It seems that with Speakeasy you have to deal with three different companies to fix anything. First Speakeasy, then Covad, then the ILEC aka AT&T. waiting almost a month to get this resolved is unbelievable....
I would NOT recommend this company for service as they DO NOT have control over repairs, nor update to information - since Covad takes 4 hours to update tickets, and other 5 hours to contact ILEC. Customer service is good, nice people with short hold times..
6/2005 - Had Bellsouth DSL service since 1997, when service first started in Miami. After hearing about Speakeasy thru a friend, I went on there web site and was interested in the features they included for home service (No port 25 blocking, IP Address, Faster Upload than Bell, and able to run servers). With Bellsouth I was paying over $64.00 bucks a month for 1.5/256 service. So I went ahead and ordered Speakeasy.
1. Ordered Speakeasy Service on 6/13/05 @ 9:30 AM EST. 2. Bellsouth circuit was cut off on 6/15/05 by Covad. 3. Get an e-mail that since I had service with Bellsouth, circuit was going to be migrated over to Covad's DSLAM. 4. DSL modem from Speakeasy shipped overnight on 6/16/05. 5. Get another e-mail advising that on 6/16/05, that circuit is already live with Speakeasy.
Get home Thursday night, modem is on doorstep (left by UPS). Plug it in, set up new IP Address information on router and nothing - NO CONNECTION. Called Tech support and running some line tests, it was determined that Bellsouth didn't properly install the cross over cables on the new circuit. Asked tech support how long was it going to take to get it fixed, and give me a date of 6/17/05 no later than 6 pm EST.
Come home Friday night, reboot the modem and still nothing. Called tech support again, and was told that Bellsouth had closed the ticket. Ran tests again, and BOOM still not corrected. After 15 min(s) on the phone was told that they would have to send a Covad Field Tech. out to the C.O. to look at the problem. Gave me a date of 6/21/05 between the hours of 12 pm - 4 pm EST. Asked why not sooner, and told me that all field techs are booked for the weekend. Covad should have enough techs to have this corrected within 24 hrs. Waiting 4 days is unacceptable! Lets see if they get it right Tuesday.
