Im using the SoHo service with 1.5Mb/s downstream and 384Kb/s up. Service has been fast and reliable - never any serious problems. With the router and a static IP (no PPPoE software required), setting up a home office was a painless procedure. Having used Verizon residential ADSL before, this is a better service in every way. The support folks are knowledgeable and friendly, and you don't get lost in a maze of voice prompts when you call in - its human service all the way. All in all a very good experience so far.

Greetings. I wanted to share with you my great experience with bway.net DSL. From the start, they worked with me to try to get accurate information from Verizon. Verizon gave a different answer each time we checked for ADSL service.
Finally, Joe worked with me to place an order for SDSL, which Verizon did agree to do (since there is copper available in the next block).
Once I was up and running, James worked with me to configure my router exactly the way I needed it, with a mix of static IP's and DHCP-served IPs. I couldn't ask for better service.
Top marks in all categories.
Seth

I had switched to bway.net after a really bad experience with SPEAKEASY (there's a review on this site), and they switched me in ONE DAY. Now, after the blackout, when my web server's ISP (Eureka) totally dropped the ball (took them 4 days to get back online after the blackout!), the Sat after the blackout I emailed them - they were there, tech guys, support guys, sales guys! They reconfigured my line and got me 5 static IP's for my servers in like 4 hours!
There's a news story on my engineering site about it - »engineering.bowery.com/Members/m···way/view
These guys rock!

Bway is amazing. Every time I've called them, a real person picks up the phone on the first ring (and doesn't put me on hold). They are real people- a rare independent ISP who cares about each customer, not one of those faceless giant corporations. As a fellow small business person (and fellow downtown New Yorker), that matters to me, and I've gotten personalized service.
They had my DSL up and running fast- the only delay was waiting for Verizon. Dan Miller talked me through the set up, dealing with my quirky older I-mac issues with friendly enthusiasm. He also worked with Covad and Verizon to keep the process moving and saved me hassles by staying on top of it.
My only problem? I've become a net hog- opening 8 web sites at once and bouncing from one to the next so fast that I may need to upgrade everything again soon. My need for speed just keeps growing exponentially- but Bway is there to keep me connected and happy.

Dear DSL Reports,
I recently sent this email to customer service management at BWAY in NYC ( www.bway.net) and they mentioned that if I was so delighted then they would appreciate it if my email made it to your database where it could actually serve a purpose other than a mere compliment. Please file this appropriately within your website so that others may see how excellently they could be treated.
Below...
I just wanted to personally thank you folks at BWAY. My consulting business operates out of Oakland CA and one of my customers has dual residences in CA and in NY. As his IT consultant, ICS has the occasionally dubious honor/duty of supporting him when he is in NY. Before BWAY things were often spotty and glitchy, etc. with his former NY ISP (Akula) which I discarded just before they went out of business in favor of BWAY. Now, with BWAY handing NY ISP services, my customer is up and running and happy as a clam.
So far, none of this is really that noteworthy since it is actually your business to make your customers happy. But what I am extremely pleased about is the level of service received so far which, I believe, has been over the top. One of your employees, James, in the DSL department, personally visited my customer and set up his router and a wireless AP that I shipped to the site. My customer was delighted and so am I. Thanks to James and thanks to BWAY. Our hats are off.
Owner - ICS Inc. Oakland CA

I use 384k SDSL for my company and we are all on the network. I got it for $189 a month for a 2-year contract.... I have been telling all my New York pals to get on bway.net because they are very, very good at this. I also like that we are supporting a lower Manhattan ISP, they are decent people who are not in league with the big boys, and take each customer very seriously. The order and install process was a piece of cake. Friendly staff and voices on the phone (I never ever get put on hold). And they are competively priced so we had to go with them for the savings too. If you have a small company like me, you'd want to get online with bway.net and you won't be sorry.

I've been a customer of Bway.net since 1998 but just decided to get DSL through them recently. I got a Static IP. The process was quick, easy, and problem-free. They kept me informed with e-mail notifications (as did Covad) and did everything for me but come over and hook up my new modem -- which was also easy. The tech guys there are really nice. One in particular...
My G4 Powerbook's much happier now and so am I.

You do pay a little extra fro Bway, but they are well worth the extra money. From Installation to getting your IPs they provide excellent excellent service. I recommend them to anyone.

If only there was a way of getting DSL without having to deal with that darn Verizon! However, even dealing with the phone company was made easier by the people at Bway.net.
The best thing about having Bway.net as your provider is that they combine friendliness and professionalism with a sincere desire to do the best possible job. I'm an IT professional and I've recommended them to two diffrerent people this week alone! I wish the comms providers for my job were this easy to work with!

Nice folks, system worked perfectly for a month. Paid for 1500kdown/385kup. Had problem w/Verizon phone line and after OVER a month DSL service wasn't turned back on, thereby crippling business. Finally after well over 5 weeks service was returned at less than half the speed I was paying for (averaging 80Kdown. The Bway.net technician's response was: "tough. Covad only guarantees a percentage of the speed you order." Finally cancelled service with them today and am going with a cheaper DSL. Why pay for the best when they can't get any more done than a cheap service? Besides, they're too small to really attack a problem. Heaven forbid their ONE technician is on the other line when you have a problem. When I finally did call to cancel service, the salesman practically made me be rude before he let me cancel my service. He was more than happy to blame anybody but his company, but I honestly think Bway.net was half at fault. At the end of the day, who cares who's fault? I had no service for 6 weeks when I thought I was paying for the best.
