I was excited to sign up for a Mac-only DSL provider, especially at these attractive prices.
I signed up online but, despite the note to expect confirmation within 1 day, I never got any response. I called and the friendly person who answered said that they weren't meeting their self-stated 1 day deadline to respond, but I would hear back very soon
Again, I never heard back from them. Since I'm already wary of the service DSL providers provide, I decided that if they don't respond when I'm a potential new customer, then I can only imagine they'll be worse after they've gotten my money. So, I called and cancelled my order. SInce they hadn't even done anything yet, they said that was no problem and apologized for the disappointing service. But, it gets worse...
My next credit card statement included a charge of almost $400 dollars from an internet company I never heard of. It was MacRevolution (under a different name) who was charging me even though I immediately cancelled. After calls to American Express to dispute the charge and calls to MacRevolution, the charge was reversed and MacRev apologized again. But, it gets worse...
I just noticed that MacRev is continuing to bill my credit card $50 every month! I e-mailed them, and got no response. I called today and they said they'll "work on it."
The people who answered the phone were friendly and polite, but that, of course, is not enough. They have never responded to any e-mail in a timely fashion, they put bogus charges through on my credit card and, even after they recognized their error, they continue to put through more bogus charges. I don't whether they're dishonest thieves or just incompetent. I urge you to avoid them. But, there is good news...
I found SPEAKEASY.ORG and they're terrific and I've had a great, stable, cheap DSL connection through them.

MacRev Rules!
We have 2 ADSL lines through MacRevolution and they are rock solid. We
got our first line with them in December and just recently added a
second ADSL line. Back in early March Covad went down and at 3am
MacRevolution was therte for me and had the problem with Covad solved
within an hour. I recommend them fully.

As a long time Mac user, the concept of an ISP that specializes in the Mac OS
sounds great. No more troubleshooting over the phone with technicians that
only know Windows!
Unfortunately, the service at Mac Revolution is terrible.
I placed an order on 1/13/00 and was told I would have my install date in a
few days. One week later I called them to find out what was happening. "Mike"
said he would call COVAD, find out what was going on and get back to me. No
call back from Mike. One week later I spoke to Mike again. I ask him to look
into this and to call me back that day no matter what. No call!!!!
Today its 2/9/00 and I still don't have an install date, nor an explanation
as to what is happening with my order.
I would advise DSL-seeking customers to go elsewhere.
