One of the great things about TulsaConnect is that their technical guys are top-notch, and their tech support is full of well-trained people. We used to be with Cox Communications, and they had a 48-hour waiting period for issue escalation, even for critical issues. With TulsaConnect, the people answering the support line are VERY knowledgeable, and will escalate the moment the situation warrants.

But what's even better is that the connection is rock solid. With Cox Communications we were down at least once a month, and one time we were down for almost an entire week. With TulsaConnect, I think we've been down twice in 6 months, with the longest period being 15 minutes.

I've had nothing but good experiences with these guys.

Recently our ISP went out of business with little to no warning, putting our company in an extremley bad situation. Tulsa Connect kept in touch with us and Valor through a weekend to get us back in business in less time than anyone guessed could be done. We appreciate all they did for us and plan on a long business relationship.

We have not experienced any difficulty with the service since its installation but minor questions have to answered quickly.

I was a customer of another ISP who went out of business unexpectedly. Tulsa Connect came to the rescue and saved the day. It only took 1 week to get my service up and running and I am extremely happy. I would recommend them to anybody.

Value for money:

I moved to Tulsa this past summer to attend college. I had had a good experience with Megapath in Dallas/Fort Worth, but they were way pricey for a college student (though I don't regret making the decision to go with them at that time).

I heard about TulsaConnect from an online ad, and through reading up on them I got the impression that they were my kind of ISP: Technically-oriented staff, detail-oriented (and perhaps slightly perfectionistic), who could actually provide clueful tech support if I needed it--in other words, a lot like my experience with Megapath.

So far my experience confirms my initial impression.

I had a Netopia modem/router from my Megapath service, and I wanted to use it rather than buying a new modem from them, if possible. "Riker" went above and beyond the call of duty to get me working with my Netopia.

First, I couldn't get a sync signal. I obtained a loaner modem from them, and it wouldn't sync either. Their tech support coordinated with SBC to get the line quality fixed--the loaner suddenly started syncing, and my voice connection quality improved too.

Second, I couldn't figure out how to set up the Netopia. After my floundering attempts, I dropped it off with Riker and he got it working, so I picked it up and returned the loaner, and I've been using the Netopia ever since. The only minor glitch in that process is that it took a few months, largely due to some miscommunication, but it was no big deal, and they were content to let me keep the loaner as long as I needed.

I can't speak to their level of support for someone who's a DSL novice, but based on my own dealings with them, you owe it to yourself to go with TulsaConnect if you're in their service area.

"Tech Support!"
"none yet"
"For small business's with remote offices wanting to use VPN there is no better solution for price, performance, or reliability."
Pre Sales information:

Value for money:

    Basics Info:

Currently 14 DSL packages (and growing) from 6Mb-768Kb to 384Kb-384Kb

Using Valor Telecom and SBC as line provider

Install was only an issue due to either Valor or SBC botching or extending the installation time. (Valor especially bad about this)

TulsaConnect dealt with the telco and pushed orders thru and kept me informed when there was any issues with Telco's.

    Detailed Info:

I am a Network Administrator for a SMB nonprofit organization in Claremore, Oklahoma. I was hired by the agency approximately 9 months ago in order to repair their dilapidated IT infrastructure. Our agency is made up of 30 remote offices in 6 counties surrounding the Tulsa area. Our agency previously utilized contractors primarily on an as needed basis. The contractors had setup three different domain controllers at three different locations. None of my domain controllers were setup to communicate with each other. I had two different MS Exchange servers running on DSL at different locations each having their own domain (for no apparent reason). Needless to say, our network was a mess. I needed a way to create centralized management, and centralized security and I needed a provider that could offer these services for a reasonable price.

I spoke with two different ISP/Hosting companies prior to speaking with TCIS. The costs associated with their VPN solutions would have tripled our monthly IT expenditures and increased the degree of knowledge needed to manage the network, thus increasing the cost by requiring Cisco specific skills.

TCIS was the third ISP/Hosting Company I spoke with. I explained my situation and specific requirements. TCIS explained that since they are an ISP and a hosting company that they are able to provide a complete VPN and hosting solution. Hosting my servers with TCIS and configuring all my remote offices on TCIS DSL allows me to avoid high bandwidth usage fees that other hosting companies charge since I do not access my servers from outside the TCIS network.

The DSL service and especially the support is what makes TulsaConnect the ISP of choice for business and home users. I can speak for both business users as well as home users due to the fact that both business and home users have access to the same quality tech support personnel. Unlike most ISP’s who have tiered support levels where you have to speak to a person who spends 30 minutes gathering information about you, then asks you to step thru mundane procedures before they move you up to a tier II support technician, TulsaConnect has only qualified and skilled technicians.

SBC provides its business DSL customers the same under trained, under skilled outsourced support personnel as it does its home users. The time spent on the phone during DSL outages alone more than doubled the cost of their service in wasted time. The off shoring of IT support is a terrific idea if you can aquire skilled and experienced staff to work the help desk. The problem with SBC's off shoring is that they have "book learned" rather than avid enthusiasts doing their tech support. Its one thing to use a PC at work, its another to have one at home that you can use every day to expand on your knowledge. Offshored support tends to give answers right off of a script rather than attempting to understand the issue. Running a business DSL connection I can NOT disconnect my router from the connection and connect it directly to my laptop (shutting down my network) so that I can prove to them that the problem is on their end. TulsaConnect has made the effort to know what my knowledge base is and when I call in to speak to a rep they know that I have taken all the necessary measures to ensure that the issue is nothing as simple as needing to reboot the router.

I expected a higher degree of support when I pay for a “business class” DSL service. TulsaConnect has provided this class of service and support.

TulsaConnect did not just provide what is promised in their DSL and hosting packages. They provided quality advice for cost effective solutions that best fit my infrastructure. My company has reduced our IT TCO from $5,000+ per month to below $3,000 per month while increasing manageability, performance, and reliability. I asked for miracles and TulsaConnect delivered.

    Thank You TulsaConnect!

    Brian Largent

    Network Administrator

    Community Action Resources and Development

    Claremore, Oklahoma

"Unless you have a lot of time to mess with ISPs, get Tulsaconnect"
Pre Sales information:

Value for money:

I've dealt with Galstar where the receptionist was the tech support staff.

I've been vigorously Vigorised. (Vigoris was a good service till its untimely demise)

I've done Cox, Direcway, Charter and of course AOL.

I now have a DLS account with Tulsaconnect.

My business is in Broken Arrow, part of the Valor Telecom Service Area. Tulsaconnect deftly handles the gross incompetence that is Valor Telecom without manual intervention on my part. Tulsaconnect is much more responsive than any of the above ISP's with tech support. I don't remember the price but it was competitive, I don't remember the contract duration but, hey, I'm not going anywhere. I do remember that they set me up with one phone call, and whenever I need to modify or upgrade my services, I call them, they answer the phone and its a done deal.

"Unless you have a lot of free time on your hands to mess with your Internet service, I highly recommend signing on with Tulsaconnect and being done with it."
