    I became a Tulsa Connect customer about mid-year 2004.

For about 2-1/2 years my business network had been connected to the Net through the services of an ISP based in Broken Arrow (they did serve the Tulsa area where I am). That ISP failed suddenly a few months ago and I had to scramble quickly to regain connectivity.

I knew of Tulsa Connect from past communications with associates, so I called them and explained what I needed, why I wanted it, and how urgent it was to get things started quickly. I had customers of my own that were affected by this Internet outage.

I was very pleased with the responsiveness of the Tulsa Connect organization. Since I am a technical person myself, it was very refreshing to be put in direct contact right away with folks at Tulsa Connect that could work out my requirements efficiently without mis-communications and errors. We would have had service restored in one day if not for the fact that the local telephone company doesn't put in aDSL circuits quite that quickly yet.

I've had the occasion to work with other ISPs such as SBC-Yahoo, AOL, and such on behalf of customers. There's just no comparision at all in terms of clear communications, access to the right people quickly, and accurate troubleshooting. My own background helps with that a bit, but there are few things more frustrating then starting over every time you call in on a problem and never being able to talk to the same person twice. Those frustrations simply don't happen when working with Tulsa Connect.

I have helped a fair number of customers and associates get connected to the Internet using Tulsa Connect services. Some of those have been aDSL customers, and some have been simple dial-up customers. In every case, the services have been turned up in reasonable times and have worked fine.

I selected the highest speed aDSL offering available in my area (6000/600) and the service is routed to my LAN by an Efficient Networks 5861 router. My account includes a routed block of static IP addresses large enough to serve my needs. I also have a dial-up account that is handy from time to time when I'm in the field with my notebook computer.

Count me as a fully satisfied business to business customer.

Good DSL connection. With 1.5/128k service 7200 feet from the CO, I get 1250-1300 on most speed tests and can keep a download coming steady at 162k a sec from FilePlanet.

Customer service is excellent. Didn't charge me full price for a new DSL modem when mine died and moved my service when I moved to a new place with no problems whatsoever.

    My Other Reviews·Windstream
I've been a customer for many years from when they were still Webzone. I use them at work and home. The Webzone guys are back in control and everything is as solid as ever. These guys have already been through all of those growing pains and have got everything running smooth. They work well with the local phone companies and make ordering service, installation, billing, and changes as smooth as can be. Their great email support makes waiting on hold on the phone unnecessary. My download speeds are consistently 160.75 K/sec (kiloBYTES per second) 1286 kbps (kiloBITS per second) download. They offer dynamic or static IP's, web space, and multiple email addresses. Their data center is state of the art. I'm proud to call them my ISP.

Update: I now have Valor as my phone company, but I can still use Tulsaconnect for my ISP.

"Slight miscommunication and coordination with Valor, but no biggie"
"Wish I'd switched months ago when this DSL became available"

Value for money:

I ordered TulsaConnect's basic 384 kbps service one morning, and that afternoon went out to Valor's store to pick up the modem. The Valor rep at first couldn't find the work order on the computer, but after a phone call, all was well. Didn't pay for the modem on the spot due to another miscommunication, but was able to take it home and pay for it in the monthly bill. The service went into effect one week later as promised, and since then, I've had no major problems. Just a couple minor ones when setting up the modem and NIC, but that was because I did it on my own without any phone walk-throughs with the tech folks. I've only experienced one or two momentary disruptions of service in the two months I've had the DSL. Overall, it's been an excellent experience. The only real ding would be that TulsaConnect needs to be more aggressive in advertising their presence - but then again, maybe it's better kept as a secret for the benefit of us current customers!

I went with TulsaConnect only because of their customer service. I was a loyal Webzone customer and changed to Tulsaconnect when they came back to Tulsa. I could have gotten SWB DSL a lot cheaper, but decided against it. I opted for the 768k - 1.5Mb / 256k DSL option and am very pleased. It is VERY quick. I also opted for the Soundstream 5660 router/modem combo, but have yet to hook it up to an internal network to fully test it out.

I ordered the 384k/128k package on a Monday and service was up and going on Friday. The account included 3 static IPs and allows me to use a personal router for a firewall. Equipment is a Speedstream 5260 modem and it far exceeds the speed of a traditional 56k dialup account and you don't even have to wait for it to dial. It awakens the whole computer because when I come home its always ready to go. Other services I subscribe from TulsaConnect is a standard web hosting account. My website is never down and I can always rely on their tech support to provide an honest quick answer.

Hands down the best company in Tulsa for internet access and hosting. I recommend them to everyone I know.

We hooked up with TulsaConnect for the 384k/128k package. Included were 3 static IP addresses and email accounts with virus & spam scanning. My wife and I have started to use the internet way more than when we had a dialup account.

Installation was very simple and on time. Arrangements of setup were handled quickly and professionally. TulsaConnect IS the only ISP to use in the Tulsa/Broken Arrow area.

The order for my DSL (394KB) was turned in over the phone, no contract, no credit card, no hassle. I dropped in unannounced to pick up my modem (Westell) and filters from their office (walked out w/ them 10 minutes later) no problems.

I get 3 static IPs, 7 email addresses that I can administer on their website, 10MB of webspace on their servers, and an emergency dialup in case of DSL failure(not likely.)

My DSL was turned up on the specified day (about 5, I think) My tech questions, usually submitted through email, were answered in minutes, not hours or days (and that's before I even signed up for service!) They still answer tech questions in 30 minutes or less- even late night.

This is a tight organization offering excellent service at a reasonable price, w/o contracts or cards! For my friends who can't afford DSL, they even offer dialup access at competitive rates (same-day hookup) also w/o contract. They use aggressive spam filtering (have received zero spam so far) and virus scanning of email.

If you're pretty techno-savvy (like I think I am) they just give you the 411 you need; if you're a newby, they can provide you great written instructions, w/ screen shots, or just walk you through the install, if you're a total squid.

I recommend them to anyone in my area (Tulsa and Broken Arrow.) Cox Cable are the "other guys" but if you don't already know, giant conglomerates like them can be pretty impersonal, and usually only tell you as much as they need to in order to get you to hang up. TulsaConnect consistently goes above and beyond w/ their customer service - they've nearly restored my faith in humanity! (not to mention the viability of DSL)
