It's been almost two years since I first signed up with Cyberonic and I'm still very satisfied. Yesterday I called and I needed to configure my wireless Linksys router. I spoke with some guy name Chris. He was very helpful and knowledgable to get me set up quickly. He asked me to write a review here at www.broadbanreports.com. Every so often, I check broadband reports but never wrote or commented anything. My connection speed is very steady and paying $39 for cyberonic/mci with 1 ip address, NO PPOE. I am not a real fan of MCI but recently have improved their service. I guess had some network problem during bankruptcy process. Service is working good for now.

The nice features of the service are high upload of 768k, 1 Static IP, No ppoe and No ppoa. I am an IT professional and I rely on my connection for work.

Los Angles, CA. Service: 6.0/768 Cyberonic/Covad dedicated line + 1 static IP - getting 5.4/620. Installation was very fast and have had NO connection or service issue. CSR were very easy to understand, have no out of country technical support. One thing that I still don’t know if Cyberonic offers News Groups, The lady that I talked to at Cyberonic couldn’t tell me if Cyberonic had access to news servers. I don’t use Newsgroup that often but talking to my neighbor who is a whiz, highly recommended it.

I also got a discounted price for 6 months. I believe it was 69 for 6 months, and the 79 after that. No any additional monthly charge Only surprise was being charged 17 for shipping and handling. Overall, I've been satisfied with my service from Cyberonic and my connection has been reliable.

So far I am happy with Cyberonic. I moved to the Cambridge, MA area from the Framingham, MA area. I called them before I moved hoping that it might be set up when I moved in. It took about a couple weeks and a Covad technician visited and installed the line.

It's Static IP, 6m/768k dedicated Covad dryline. I’m paying only $59 per month and after 6 month increases to $69. I do a lot of video conferencing and it works very well. Upload and download speed are great. What I like about Cyberonic, the don’t charge me anything extra’s.

Cyberonic doesn't have promotion like Verizon has so I am paying $59 monthly rather than $39.99. I guess that means a few less six packs per month. I’m getting faster speed than Verizon and static ip included.

Tech support does seem to have a good grasp of what is going on. They are polite and patience better than my cell phone company. The connection is solid and they don't block port 25, so I can use other SMTP servers if I want to.

Highly recommended.

local telco is verizon. recieved modem labeled newedge networks, reverse dns for ip was a att.net addy. they only supported 680k/128k in my area evin though newedge supported 1.5m/128 for 10$ more and verizon has 3m/786k for 40.

you need a secretary or a tape recorder when you call to purchace. I made 4 calls speaking to 3 different people and got a different answer every time for service. first 2 calls claimed to have taken my order, turns out only was 1/2 finshed and did not get completed 3rd call got entirely different information about service and did not get completed. finaly on the 4th call to the same person as the 3rd call i was able to wrangle a complete order. if they dont take your cc # the order is not complete, if they clame its done ask about payment method.. they may finsh the order then... first call i was told 1 year contract and 1.5 m service available. 2nd call 1 year contract but 680k service. 3rd call no contract, free modem rental. 4th call no contract, 680k/128k, purchace of modem. never tested their mail service either.

the call center is absurd to deal with. service didnt have interuption during the 5 mo i had service. If you can get one of their faster packages they might be worthit if you get stuck with one like mine its better to go elsewhere unless you just need a isp that allows servers.

recieved a speedstreem 2100 i beleve pppoe they dont allow you to change the config of their modem including the firewall/router settings duno if it was pppoe or not.

I've been using Cyberonic for about 12 months (probably more) and everything has been going real smooth!
What more could i ask for? Fast DL, fast upload, static IP's and extremely reliable service.

Yesterday my DSL Router died because of a surge, and i was stupid enough not to have it on a surge strip. Anyway, i spoke to a couple of guys at Cyberonic tech support and they were going to ship me a new router.
Given that i live and breathe broadband, i REALLY didnt want to wait 2 days for a new one so i got another one from a previous carrier. Nobody seemed to know how to configure it for me, but then i had the privilege of speaking to Neil D.
We spent about 20-30 minutes messing with the configuration. He went out of his way to do this for me as a favor because i guess they can only support certain models. Anyway at the end, it fired up and damn i was happy!!!!!

Neil D, you saved the day man!

I wish all the techies were as professional, and willing to help as much as this guy.

Besides all that, Cyberonic is definitely the most reliable and economical broadband connection i've experienced!

Thanks!

P.S. I asked Neil if i can post this review. It's genuine. Email me if you need any further info as i'd be happy to answer.

Well we have had Cyberonic/MCI 1.5megx768kbs ADSL for 2 years now. It is a very reliable connection for now. The only downfall was last year during MCI periodical connection problems. For that, Cyberonic credited our account for a month of service. We got mci service because of fast 768 upload and only $39 per month. MCI service is still spotty but not as bad as used to be. Every once in awhile we need to reboot the router. Most of time the ping rate is about 30 ms and the IP address is a real IP and not sticky or ppoe crap. We have contacted Cyberonic several times inquiring about any near future MCI speed upgrades but so far no luck. We are going to keep the service for another couple of months before switching to Cybereonic/Covad 6megs service.

After suffering through a 12-months contract with Earthlink, and two months of that with mostly unusable service, I switched to Cyberonic. Installation was a breeze, and didn?t have problems installing the modem using the included setup wizard sofware Covad includes, that most others have complained of. Speed is Fast and furious. I signed up for 6megs Cyberonic/Covad service and paying $59/mon and came with 1 static IP. I need the static IP to communicate to my workplace via VPN. All I can say is our speeds have always been consistent and stable. I have never had an issue with the email. I did see a spike where the DNS dropped out a couple weeks back but it was after midnight and I assumed they were doing work on the network. By the following morning everything was fine. Nothing major. Service has been very reliable since I got it about a few months ago, and speeds are consistently around 5.3 megs at all times of the day or night.

I'm approaching the second anniversary of being a Cyberonic DSL customer. Started out at 1.5/76 for $39 per month MCI service, got a free upgrade to 6.0/768 Covad for $59/mon. As Performance concerns, it?s been mostly smooth sailing with uptimes measured in months and consistent, reliable speeds, as advertised. I'm not far from the central office main switch, that serves my line and have excellent signal strength.

I am paying $59 per month for Telesoho Cyberonic/Covad + 1 Static IP. I am running Packet8 for VOIP and just love the service. Over all I have to say I've had a good experience with Cyberonic. There have only been a couple times that my service has gone down, and then only for a little bit. So far, Cyberonic offers the best Covad deals around.

Fast, solid Internet connection, static IP address, high upload speeds
Comparatively high cost, flakey mail & nntp servers
Good speeds and solid connection are worth the price

I checked here on DSLR for ISPs when I moved into a new apartment in Chicago. I wanted DSL and was not interested in trying Cable, though I did look at reviews for DSL, Cable and wireless. Cyberonic had (and still has) great reviews, so I took a chance.

I ordered Cyberonic's 1.5/786 + 1 static IP at $49.99/month. No contract or commitment, just paid month-to-month. No hidden charges or extra fees to speak of.

Speeds: 1.5 down / 786 up. Speed tests from DSLR consistently showed around 1200 down / 600+ up or better.

I had a very solid, consistent connection - no slowdowns or outages. There were a few times when I lost my connection, but I believe that was due to overheating of the router provided, or of an internal switch. Cooling down the provided router always fixed the (brief) problem.

I never had to call technical support once while using Cyberonic. I did have a small issue with billing, as I was double-billed for the first month and setup after signing up with Cyberonic. My emails to billing went unanswered, but a phone call solved the issue very quickly.

Overall I was quite impressed. The price is higher than some, and Cyberonic had (has?) issues with their own mailservers and nntp, but I got solid, reliable service and speeds for the price and used other mail and news servers, so those things were not an issue for me. If you want a fast, solid connection to the Internet, with a static IP address and good upload speeds, you could do much worse than Cyberonic.

I originally started with Cyberonic dial-up, got DSL when it became available. I just recently switched from Cyberonic/ADSL to Cyberonic/Dryline 1.5/384 + 1 static IP which is exact same as Covad/dedicated line SOHO.

Costs: $49.99 for the first 6 months. $59.99 after and12 month commitment. No hidden charges, extra fees or anything else.

Speed: 1.5 download / 384 upload. Using speed.cyberonic.com speed-test shows ~1.4 down and ~300 up.

Connection is very consistent, no outages, flaws or anything else. For what its worth, it is a decent, reliable service and technical support always available.

Sooooo far so good. I'm very impressed with reliability and speed. At this point is all I really care about.
