"Great, Great Service and Support"
"More expensive than Qwest - BUT WORTH IT"
"I only recommend First Link as the ISP, any other choice, beware"

Davin in technical support was simply wonderful. He walked me through all the necessary configuration steps in under 15 minutes. Once we setup the router, poof it worked, and when I do a speed test here at dslreports.com I show I am getting 620K on a 640K connection. Much better than I had before with Covad.

"Great speed, quality/knowledgable technical support, timely communication"
"Not the cheapest"

First Link was very responsive to getting my DSL setup. The installation process happened in just over 5 days, and thank-god, because Qwest was in the dark during my whole order process.

Russ did a great job getting my circuit installed before the install date!

I will quickly summarize that I have had no issues what so ever with Firstlink, and provide the horror story i had with qwest as my previous ISP.

Had qwest.net as my ISP prior to firstlink and experienced nothing but headaches. It all began with false claims of availability in my area. 5 months later the main office finally has equipment and has qualified it with the neighborhood hardware. 1st Qwest technician arrives, qualifies the line, but Qwest's procurement dept has no record of me ordering a DSL router! A week later 2nd technician comes out, re-qualifies the line, still no dice (but at least i have a DSL modem/router now). Needless to say, after a month of working with Qwest technicians and Sales people trying to square things out, I finally have a working line.

A month later I'm on the phone again but his time with Qwest billing resolving a near $1000 monthly bill due to double charges, and services never ordered!!! In the end, I do have to give a hats off to certain people in the technical group and the customer service group who went the extra mile to resolve the problems (but they are few). It ended becuase Qwest was discontinuing their ISP service which forced me to go with MSN (which would have caused a month of outage time for some unknown reason) or go with a local ISP (with no outage). I went with FirstLink on a friend's recommendation.

All I have to say is the experience with First Link has been the exact opposite of the one I had with QWest.
