"Excellent tech support, great speed, and using UUNETs backbone"
"Bandwidth issues for the first few months but now good speed"
"Very Good Value for money"

Value for money:

The first few months the speed was slowing every month as more subscribers were added. In late October 2 T-3s were added now speed tests are always >1.2mbs/220kps. Since Speedfactory is using Bellsouths network that means greater coverage than the CLECs. Bellsouth has their own equipment installed in the minirams in addition to the COs and the CLECs cannot or will not use these connection points. Also, static IP are used by Speedfactory so I have never had any type of IP address issues.

Marietta,Cobb,GA
Business customer
$149 per month (24 month contract)
about 10 days
"Knowledgeable, well trained personnel sales, installation & support"
"Great service, good value"
Pre Sales information:

Connection reliability:
Tech Support:
Value for money:

Sales rep was very knowledgeable and patient in answering questions, and since I am an Internet Solution Architect for a major corporation, I had lots of questions. I opted for a business plan with 10 static IP's so I could play around at home with some ideas I wanted to try. It was more expensive than their regular end user plan and I had to sign a 24 month contract but I also got a free router and free installation. I had considered installing it myself but I'm glad I didn't. Their technician that did the installation was very well trained but the convoluted mess of spagetti phone wiring in my apartment even gave him fits for a while. I would have been on the phone for days trying to sort it out. I had one minor problem with the configuration of the router that I didn't discover until after the installer left, but a quick call to tech support got that resolved. The service was installed a day before the promised due date. The through put is good. I am on the fringe of the service area but I'm still getting within 20% of the advertised maximum of 1.4. The service has been up now for about a month and a half with only a couple of brief outages during electrical storms, which I believe had more to do with the router which isn't on a UPS getting confused, rather than an actual service outage. I would highly recommend Speed Factory to anyone considering DSL in the Atlanta area.

Atlanta,Fulton,GA
$49 per month (12 month contract)

"On time install, great tech support"
"Uses Speedstream adapter which is not supported under Windows 2K"
"Overall I would recommend to anyone"

Value for money:

My experience with Speedfactory has been excellent. The CO installation was done within the quoted timeframe. I did my own installation at home and it went off without a hitch. The price is competitive with other residential DSL in the Atlanta area. Tech support has always been excellent and other than the fact that Efficient Networks (makers of the Speedstream 3060 internal DSL adapter) don't have a working driver for my adapter, the service has been great. Minimal downtime, scheduled maintenance always announced ahead of time, and a reliable, fast (1.4 - 1.6Mbps) connection. If you want DSL and live in the Atlanta area, check these guys out! As for "value for money", wouldn't we all like everyting to be a little cheaper?!

Woodstock,Cherokee,GA
$299 per month (12 month contract)
"I have been more of a problem for them than they have been for me."
"Still some question about the pricing plan."
"4.5 flashing LED's out of 5."
Pre Sales information:
Install Co-ordination:
Connection reliability:
Tech Support:

Value for money:

Lots of positives. The installation was roughly on track, the time was a
little longer than 10 days but part of that was our fault for not having a
spare DSL phone line to tap off of. Service has been pretty good.
Everybody is pleasant and seems to have solid product familiarity. Up time
is excellent. Throughput is excellent. We are gingerly beginning to move
some of our hosting and so far so good (support even called directly to
Internic to move one of our domains when Network Solutions was slow).

I have some question about which pricing plan we have signed up for, but all
in all would recommend the service to any of my 400 or so business clients if it were available and suspect I have been more of a problem for speedfactory.net than they have been for me. Compared to the competition, I give them a robust 4.5 LED's out of a possible 5.
