Value for money:

This company is not bad at all. They are comparable to almost all the other
services out there: 786 down / 128 up, free equipment, 49 bucks a month.
They do require a one year comittment but sometimes you can get out of that
pay paying an install fee. They used to have the contract for free install
only, but I think they changed it.

Their services are down about once a month, and usually only for about an
hour or two. The majority of the crashes I have had is with the physical
provider: COVAD who sucks so hard not even light can escape. Covad crashes
all the time.

Netway has switched to using GTE mostly, so this is a little better for
residential service because its a lot cheaper, though GTE may not be that
rock solid.

Netway will give you one static IP address free and you can get more for
only 2 dollars a month. They come from a big giant pool and are all routed
towards one gateway address 204.140.233.1. So theoretically (and it not a
theory but I cant condone this action even though its so damn easy) its
possible for somebody to just take your IP address as long as they are a
NetWay customer. That is the one caveat to their service. Really it cant
hurt you at all unless you are stupid and running an E-Commerce server on a
residential DSL line. I digress...

They provide a decent DSL modem, cables, etc. They have a bit of a lag time
getting an install date because they use GTE who is really busy, but they
are on time 80% of my experience.

They will give you DNS if you want it for any of your IPs (forward and
reverse service) though they wont give you authority over the IP addresses.
You can run your own BIND server if you really want to get funky.

I have three residential customer through them, all work great, no
complaints. I also have one of their business packages with 1.4 / 1.4 and
64 IP addresses and I run 8 web servers (many doing virtual hosting for
numerous domains), a name server, 2 mail servers, and a file server for my
WAN / LAN all neatly tucked away behind a firewall. I have had no problems
to speak of. They are very accomodating.

You also get a referral fee for bringing people to them. 20 bucks. Not bad.

To summarize: their services is most tailored for people who know what they
are doing, want static IPs to run their own servers with, and can do their
own tech support. Their tech is decent but he is kinda dumb, their sysadmin
is really cool though and very helpful. So I can rate them high in the
Mail, DNS, News, Etc category because thats really up to you as you do most
of that yourself with Exchange or LINUX (the choice of a gnu generation).

They have a limited service area, mostly just Southern California.
