  • "Great ISP.. I recommend them to anyone asking bout ISP in area"

I got Qwest DSL with Net Venture as my ISP- price for DSL started at 640/256 for 29.00 then they upped it to 768/256.. then went to 1024/640 ...and now at 1536/1024.....with no price increases and Net Venture price was 17.95 but didn't include web page.. added it for bout 5 bucks more (5 Mb)

UPDATE 09/18/06:
seems that Qwest has dropped upload to 960 instead of 1024 not sure why.. I just noticed it today

UPDATE 07/15/07:
I think Qwest had problems at the stingers.. speeds are back to 1536/1024 now the problem is ALL DSL support has been outsourced to Asia.. real tough to get a real tech if having problems with DSL.

UPDATE 01/06/11:
I switched AWAY from Qwest DSL (cost $50/Mo) and now on local cable ($45/Mo for Res 2 speeds) (Click! - owned by local power co) and from 1.5M/1M to 10M/768
I am getting good speeds since 12/16 (speed tests range from 8m to 14m) and as advertised they say speed should be around 10m (not counting normal overhead) +/- 10% and at worst 20% off peak.. so far they have lived up to the promise.
I have only been with them a couple weeks. but they have had cable in this area for about a year so it should be and seems to be stable.
I highly recommend them for Internet (you can pick your ISP from a list Click! is just the carrier) - and they are pretty good for TV
Best part is the ISP handles the support process.. ie Local

  • "I use Click! Cable Internet in Tacoma Washington and use Net-Venture as my ISP. They offer tiered service, both better than ATT"
  • "webspace (5MB) is rather paltry. Slow uploads"
  • "if you are looking for an ISP to provide Click! Internet in Tacoma, Net-Venture is the best!"

I had a painless install. With Tacoma's Click! network, users are required to pick from three ISP's to provide service. Net-Venture is the best of the three. They offer tiered service, of which, the first two tiers are faster and cheaper than attbi, or DSL. I just wish they gave out about 20 MB of webspace for personal pages (currently 5 MB). I bought the Toshiba Modem, and it has performed flawlessly since day one. I pay $26.99 for the bottom tier which gives 2048/256kbps down/up. price vs. quality is great! They even offered to setup my Linksys router. Since I switched from my ATTBI account (1500/128kbps after transition from @home 5000/128kbps) which I was paying $54/per month, I will never go back.

---------UPDATE---------------

2 years later: It seems my connection has lost some pep, but not much. I still average ~1900/190kbps. Still a great deal for the price.

---------UPDATE---------------

Speeds are now capped as per tiers. 1024/128kbps. Lately there has been service disruptions/overload in the evening hours where I lose connectivity. I emailed them concerns but haven't heard anything back. I'll give it a little more time...

---------UPDATE---------------

Service has stabilized, but is still capped at 1024/128kbps. If we sell our house and move I might switch to DSL. Still, I m satisfied with Click! and Netventure.

---------UPDATE---------------

Well we are moved, and we had to switch to the dreaded Comcrap Cable now. I'll keep you informed on how it goes. I can't believe how expensive Comcast HSI is. All in all I can look back at Click! and Netvernture in Tacoma with a positive tint. While connection/transfer speeds were below standard (1024/128) the cost was very reasonable ($29).

Net-Venture, Inc. "rescued" my firm from another, (larger and impersonal) ISP — with whom we experienced a fair volume of troubles. With local offices staffed with friendly and professional personnel, Net-Venture has saved my company from many of the hassles that other ISP's subjected us to. As our requirements changed, Net-Venture took us seamlessly from Dial-Up, to DSL and finally T-1 connection — all smoothly and at extremely competive pricing! Thus, we absolutely did not even consider 'changing' ISP's when our physical location (and connection-method) changed due to our office relocation. In summary, Net-Venture's impecable reliability, attractive pricing, wide range of services and connection modes — plus their "can do" attitudue keeps us the happiest of clients. It is refreshing to do business with a firm so committed to putting the customer's needs as the top priority. Net-Venture, thank you for a job well done!

I have had Net Venture for over a year and love the reliable service I receive from them. The few connection issues I have had are resolved quickly or are related to Qwest (qwest is terrible, but not reviewing them). The only problem is with the limited tech support hours. For the price you pay a month you can't beat it.

My experience with NetVenture has been a pleasure.

NetVenture is part of the Click Network trio of service providers. The other two, Advanced Stream and Harbornet, did not appear as good so I ordered NetVenture's service. Roughly a week after ordering, the connection was functional and I was browsing the Internet at very good speeds.

Click Network, which ranks in at 9th on the fastest ISPs list as of this review's writing, is a city-owned company that the service is officially named. The three providers provide the proverbial backbone of the service.

I order 1024/128 speed service and have tested well past 2000/250 on several occasions. It is great to see such high speeds, and they keep increasing (#26 to #9 in a matter of a week, even.)

Installation was painless. It took about fifteen minutes, including configuration. The cost was low, other than the modem. The only complaint I have about the ISP is the small amount of web space.

Connection reliability has been very good. It has only gone down twice, and for a very short period of time.

If you live in Tacoma, this is the Internet service for you.

*UPDATE* March 15th, 2003 6:45 PM PST ***Click! has reduced speeds by 50%. To reflect this, I am lowering my "value for money" and "connection reliability" indicators. I am very disappointed by this. *UPDATE*
