tried VZ (now FP) connection was constantly going up/down - VZ tech support blamed my wiring- I installed cat5 from NID to computer - same issue - VZ said was my computer -
switched to GWI - same issue- they sent Verizon out and VZ said no trouble-
GWI sent tech out , said issue was on the line- I said WTF !
GWI said they would setup meeting w/Verizon anf GWI tech @my house-
did so, GWI proved to Verizon was proble, VZ fixed, now good connect
typical speeds 4.7 Meg up- 856 up
i am on 5 meg connection- 10K foot away from the "centrqal office" per GWI
all in all good service

I shopped around and found GWI to be the best deal. 39.95 for 5/1 service. I don't have a good enough phone line to connect at 1meg up but a quick email to support confirmed this. They told me the exact speed the modem was conneted at and that noise on the line is the culprit. The fact that they told me this puts them in a class above the rest...
