In the San Francisco Bay Area I was on Pac Bell's list for install for over
7 months and finally decided to try someone else. I saw the very high marks
given to Cybertel and called them up. They estimated that the install would
be completed in about 3 weeks. Given my previous experience I was doubtful.
From the beginning they hit every mark in terms of the install. The install
was completed in under 3 weeks, from order to up and running. Great follow
through! There were no technical problems and the setup was done in about
an hour.
I wanted to wait a few months to see if any problems occurred after install
before writing a review. Nothing has happened to generate any problems.
The technical staff called several times during the first week to make sure
everything was OK. The link has been active whenever I've needed it.
I have a $80 home plan with 1.5 M down and 385 K up, static IP. Bottom
line the experience lived up to the reviews and I have recommended Cybertel
to friends. I can think of no negatives, with highest marks in all
categories.

After months of runarounds from Verizon, I was so relieved to deal with Cybertel. They hooked me up quickly and are readily available by email and phone.

Fist of all, don't let the $120/month scare you off. The charge is for TWO DSL lines. Having had a pair of DSL lines (768/384 "old ADSL" from Covad & a 608/128 line) for just about a year now, I recently switched ISPs. The difference in performance was astounding. If you live in New Jersey - especially the northern part of the state - you really need to look into these guys. They are back-hauled in Newark which means amazingly short (sub 20ms for both my lines) ping times. Static IP addresses (1 per line) are provided, and it's a direct Ethernet connection. NO PPPOE or Winpoet is used. That last fact alone makes these guys worth a look and/or a phone call. It may matter to some of you so this is also worth mentioning: Cybertel does not charge a credit card for the monthly service. Rather, they invoice me - a feature the Minister of Finance (AKA my wife) really loves.
Their tech support, while not 24/7, is very good. The people know what they're talking about and have been able to resolve the few issues I did have very quickly. They orchestrated my switchover painlessly and even made sure Covad didn't pull any funky stuff with stray service charges. I DID still have to pay a 100.00 switchover charge, unfortunately.
Overall, a very satisfying experience and a very good service. My only gripe is Cybertel does not have a Usenet server. Not that big a deal for me, as my old ISP's Usenet service was terrible and I wound up subscribing to a 3rd party service anyway.

After giving the order to Pacbell, I wasted six weeks! Pacbell could not get the job done. I called LDVL, now Cybertel and it was 11 working days from the time I placed the order until the time I had service. I needed to call tech support to get some configuration assistance, and I was assisted immediately and was not treated like I was some kind of Idiot. I have three staticIP addresses. Shotly after going live, I was hit by a hacker and the tech support people helped get me back to a clean computer. They made recommendations on things like firewalls and have been generally very helpful every step of the way. As of this date, I have had no service outages and I am very happy that Pacbell could not fill the order. Cybertel is the only way to fly!

I tried to get ADSL 1.5 directly from Verizon (Bell Atlantic) and it was a horror story jammed with delays and confusion. They kept cancelling appointments adding delay to delay. I called Cybertel and they were able to get me up and running within 10 days. Even the Bell person was informative. I don't know how Cybertel did it but they did and having DSL has been a pleasure ever since. There was extensive wiring needed which Covad did for me without effort. I was shell shocked due to my Verizon experience and somewhat harrassed the Cybertel employees. Every one of my questions were answered without any DELAYS! Thank you Cybertel!

Cybertel (LDVL) provides DSL service for our non-profit organization, and I have to say that it is fantastic. We made an appointment for an LDVL engineer to come to the office to check out our computer systems and our phone lines. He came to the office one afternoon and let us know exactly what would needed to be done for the service to be connected. The next morning, someone came from the phone company to work on the phone lines. He finished in about an hour, and WITHIN AN HOUR! after he left, an engineer from COVAD came to install the rest of the hardware. In about two hours, the DSL lines were all connected. The same LDVL engineer that had come the previous day helped me to configure all the computers over the phone. By the end of the day, our entire office was on the DSL network. It has been flawless ever since. I can't imagine an easier, faster, more reliable and customer friendly DSL provider.

Quick and painless install process. The technical department was extremely knowledgable and helpful. Pre-sales not pushy at all. They were informative about DSL in general and the whole installation process in detail. It was a pleasure doing business with Cybertel. Call Cybertel for business class SDSL. This is their specialty.

Great turn around time. I ordered 608/128 ADSL thinking that I might get it before the end of the year, they sure did suprise me. This company scheduled with Verizon just a few days after my order and had Covad come out today, 7 days after Verizon. I even got the Covad guy to talk to the ISP and get all the info. The customer service is quick and the most I think I was on hold during an one call was probably 3 minutes.

I've never posted a review before, but our company just received a Spam Fax from this company promoting their DSL service and their link to DSL Reports. This sort of unethical (illegal?) marketing torqued me enough to write this.
