Spokane,Spokane,WA
$69 per month (12 month contract)
Qwest
CLEC party: New Edge Networks
"Great people and information."
"N/A"
"Good prices and good people = A provider worth trying."
Pre Sales information:

My story is a testament to how much Britsys cares about customer
    service.
I contacted Britsys initially to be pre-qualified for ADSL service. The
pre-qualification email came back the very next day stating that I was
qualified for, among others, the ADSL 768/384 package. During the next
week I was in constant communication with a rep from Britsys(Beth was
her name). I would send her a question concerning their service, she
would promptly answer, and as is normally the case I would soon think of
another question for her. I believe she responded approx. 10 times via
email answering various questions and addressing certain concerns.
Finally, when all my questions/concerns were put to rest I completed the
service agreement for the ADSL 768/384 package and faxed it in. I
promptly received a detailed order confirmation email.

During the next few days I was contacted by a friend of mine who works
for a local wireless internet provider. His company wanted to contract
with someone for an evening On-Call position. The position offered a
small monthly salary and free wireless internet access. After getting
the details on the salary and internet, I decided to take the contract.
The next day I remembered I had a pending order with Britsys for DSL! I
quickly contacted Beth about possibly shortening my contract a bit, and
although this was not possible she did cancel my order without any
headaches. Just think how nasty she could have made this for me if she
    wanted to..

Since I never actually used Britsys services, I cannot give any info
regarding network performance, but I can attest to their outstanding
customer service. I wholeheartedly believe they care about their
customers. In this day of cut-throat DSL competition, and $6.00 /hour
tech support reps Britsys is a refreshing experience.

In closing I'd like to take a moment to thank Beth for answering all my
questions (yea, it was probably annoying) and canceling my order without
any grief. I will not forget this type of service and promise that
should I ever be in the market for a ADSL provider again, Britsys will
    be my first stop.

    Truly,

    Mike

"None."
"They provided DSL when nobody else could."

Value for money:

After three failed attempts to get DSL over the course of 1.5 years, I tried one more time with BritSys. Previously, Qwest had told me that my line length was over 18,000 feet and I couldn't get ADSL. Last summer there was a week when everyone on my block was without telephone service. I thought it might be due to a cable cut and that Qwest may have re-routed some lines. I hoped that my line would measure closer to the 12,000 feet that it should be.

Britsys kept me informed throughout the process by email. They promptly answered any questions that I had.

To my surprise, Qwest tagged my line one day ahead of schedule. A few days later, New Edge called to set up an appointment for inside wiring. Later that day, they called again to say that the tech could actually do the job the next day! The New Edge tech arrived promptly and did a great job installing CAT5 from my telephone box to my office.

I had ordered 768K up/384K down, but the DSL router would not sync. After trying a few things, the tech called support and tried a slower speed. The router synced almost immediately at 384K. It turns out that my line measured 17,100 feet which is too far for a faster speed, so I gladly accepted 384K down/128K up. It's still a lot better than dial up.

The Britsys contract is for 384/128 ADSL with a static IP and an Efficient Networks 5851 router running in bridge mode. Except for the slower speed, this was exactly what I wanted.

So far, the line has performed flawlessly. Speed tests have come in at about 320/92, so I'm happy.

"Great Support! Great Staff!"
"Line only worked 3 days"
"If you are looking for a good ISP contact Britsys!"
Pre Sales information:

Value for money:

We ordered our line in the begining of Novemebr. From Order to Install Beth was GREAT! We ordered 144/144 IDSl though them. The install went smoothly.

However, we saw a false sync on the line so the LEC had to be contacted. 2 days later the line was up and running. Speeds were great and we were happy. The night before thanksgiving the line went down.

We contacted Britsys on Thanksgiving day and we acctually recieved a call back from Doug within 2 hours. He opened a ticket with New Edge (NEN) and a few days later we were told it should be working but it wasn't. After 1 1/2 weeks of waiting we cancelled the order.

I know that this review may look bad. But, don't let it discourage you. Britsys did everything they could to get our line working. We were updated daily as to the staus of our line and what was being done to resolve the issue. The problem lied within the LEC and possibly NEN but it DID NOT have anything to do with BRITSYS!

I used to work for a NEN partner and did over 75 installs so I know what BRITSYS was doing on their side and I understood how frustrating it was to have a customer who wanted to be on service but NEN or thE LEc had a problem.

Bottom line: BRITSYS was great! All you need to do is look at the reviews here and you will see that youself. Should I move to a new location I would certainly conatct Britsys for my DSL needs.

BritSys made everything happen smoothly, as quickly as possible. I was too far from the co for ADSL so IDSL was my only option. Consistent 128 up/down and static IP. I'm not thrilled about paying $89 a month for 128k but my options were limited and Earlthlink's IDSL came in at ~130 a month! Ava was my main contact for setting up my account and there were no false promises and everything happened exactly as she said it would. The tech support is excellent. My only concern is that it seems to be a fairly small company and hopefully their business will be profitable so they can continue to provide great service.

"New Edge installer's break stuff, then Brit Sys & New Edge won't fix"
Pre Sales information:

Value for money:

I ordered the service on September 27th and within seven day's Ameritech had the line provisioned. I called New Edge Networks on October 11th and the installer came out on the 16th. Even though the installer broke my screen door handle, and connected my DSL through some old alarm wire that came into my house, the router has been up and running since the 16th. All I had to do is call BritSys one time, to get my line provisioned and ready to go. Ameritech deserves the credit for this also, because they were out 6 day's after the order was placed, running a new line to my house, then by the 7th day it was provisioned and connected to New Edge Networks. If you go to NewEdgeNetworks.Com and look for a New Edge ISP, you will see that most of them shouldn't even be considered ISP's. At least BritSys has online DSL lookup where you can see the available speed and price to you're location, and you can select and order online. Another good thing about BritSys, is there really a DSL ISP out of North Carolina, with another POP in Chicago and multiple connection's to the internet. I finally had time yesterday to test my SDSL, it's definately slow about 350/350Kbps maximum. I'll be updating this review within a week, i'm giving New Edge Networks a chance to fix my door handle that the unprofessional lazy installer broke. After waiting over 3 week's for New Edge Networks to contact me concerning my screen door, i've decided to cancel my SDSL service.

Value for money:

I found about IDSL, through dslreports, and after reviewing several of the ISP's that offer IDSL through NEN, I contacted BritSys.

From that first call - it has all been good. The folks there let me know exactly what to expect, time to service, speed etc... The actual install with the tech that came out took a little longer than expected, but I was the first customer to have this type of connection at the CO - so there were a few things the local Telco and NEN had to iron out - but they did a good job to work out the details.

Speed has been about 135/136 for the 144/144 service as reported by the dslreports speed tests, pings average around 80ms, and service has been up 100% since I went live.

I have an Efficient 5871 modem/router (in routed mode) with 4 PC's on my home network sharing the connection via NAT. I am also approx 20k from the CO, and as part of the telco portion of the ISDN circuit, they used a AdTran TotalReach d-mark package installed at my house for this distance.

Price was right for me, service is what they said it would be, and they respond to questions/issues right away.

My experience to this point has been just great !

I ordered 768 service and the order was filled within about 4 - 4 1/2 weeks. Britsys kept me informed and was excellent with information. Home equiptment is a bridge. Static IP. Free install, $249 for the bridge, $65 a month.

Well, after several months, it does not work. Up & Down for no reason. Unreliable, not worth the $65 a month and hassle.
If it's not fixed this week, I am done . It never works.

Final Summary: After months of instability, I have been cancelled from my service. Reason for line instability, unknown. Currently searching for a solution.
