I would like say acceleration.net is the best company in Gainesville for
providing Dsl. I never ever get booted off I get real fast downloads and
the price is very reasonable.

Acceleration net is super cool!! Installation could not of been easier. It
only took about 5 days from the time I placed my order until they turned
my circuit on. After that all that was needed was
to plug the dsl modem/router into the wall and my pc in to it. BAM!
superfast internet access.

The difference in speed is unreal, imagine racing your friend to
Orlando, he runs at 3 or 4 mph (or kps in this case) and you take your
bad ass sports car are about 150kps!! This is analogous to the difference
between dial-up and dsl. Other providers may promise you great speed,
but then you end up sharing a inadequate amount of bandwidth from your
ISP to the rest of the net. This is not the case with Acceleration.

I run a small home business and the support from Acceleration is great,
they actually answer their phones!! Their staff is unbelievable, and have
gone above and beyond to help me out. I host several Redhat servers, and
the have provided me with personalized support I needed.

It may not been the cheapest but when is quality ever the cheapest,
Acceleration net is more than quality, they are simple the best.

This company is awesome. They allowed me to try and install (filters etc) myself so I could
save the one time installation fee ($60). When I failed, they came out the next day (in
the rain) and hooked me up in 20 mins. I live about 3 milies from the CO. I've never
noticed the link down. I went to this company after getting recommendations by friends.
This company got me an external modem that hooks up through cat5 so that I could
use a Linux Box as my home server - They are great about supporting linux. I spent 4
months trying to get ADSL from another company unsuccessfuly. This company
has significant bandwidth available and has been great about adding more to meet growth
needs. I could max out available bandwidth on my ADSL line the first day I got the service,
and I still can. They have a link to the local GRU Gainesville NAP (a dedicated network
locally between the University of Florida and some local companies) so, their access to
the UF network is _MUCH_ faster and more reliable than other local ISPs which don't
pay for Gainesville NAP access. I work as a systems programmer for UF, so speed
and reliability to UF's network is important to me. Both have been great with accelleration.net.
It's 4 hops to my workstation at UF from my ADSL box (the traffic never leaves
gainesville) - It was more than 20 (all the way up to Washington DC and back) through
my old dialup connection with another provider.

I live out in the boonies and suffer from Pairgain. So I'm getting IDSL 128kb. I've been using 64kb ISDN from Bellsouth and need more speed... 5 Static IP's and they are also hosting out Corporate Servers. Great staff and knowledgable people. Got a call from the scheduling person.. when I called back though she said they were waiting for IDSL routers and wouldn't be able to schedule me for a week or more...

SDSL Prequalified 1.1MB

I live in South Daytona and was pre-qualified for SDSL 1.1mb. I live about 9,200feet from the CO. At least thats what USA LINKED has told me »www.usalinked.com/ A day later I was told that tests were run and I do qualify for DSL 1.1mb. The only thing needs to be done is have the TElCO come out and run a speed test and see what improvements need to be made to the line. How exciting. Hope this works. So far I have been given a good price and no contract. Alittle leary because Bell South ADSL claims I was not qualified to recieve ADSL.... hmmm why not? I will update this when I get hooked up.

Re: SDSL Prequalified 1.1MB

Here is a reason why Bell south would say you don't qualify while usalinked (www.usalinked.com) would. It is very possible for USA Linked to have Equipment in the central office near you, and bell might not. I had the same thing. Bell couldn't provide me with service but USA Linked Did. Just some words of wisdom!

Wait for RR service

Have had bellsouth, and MPI net(UCNSB) DSL service. Best I could do in the middle of the night is about 800kb/s tweaked. Now have RR service and go faster than that in the middle of the day. 2 meg+ at night. DSL basically sucks unless you are very close to the source. The Mole Man
