I've been a faithful customer of Videotron for over 15 years but I'm starting to question what I get for my money. I have Phone+Internet+Cable Package. Paying $43 for Internet with package discount.

Now that I'm starting to use Netflix and AppleTV on a more regular basis, I'm exceeding 50GB Cap for High-Speed. If I watch a 1080P Movie I can easily consume 3GB/hour !! It's really getting annoying having to check current monthly usage on a continuous basis not to pay overage fee of $4.95/GB... Cap is way way too low AND SICK AND TIRED OF PAYING OVERAGE FEES !!

When I complained they tried to upsell me to Ultra High-Speed 60 (with 90 GB) for $55. With higher speed you consume higher cap just as fast ...it's not higher speed that I need it's HIGHER CAP !!

Caps are set very low for Cable Internet in Quebec. Ontario Cable Internet Caps are much higher (with ISPs like Acanac and TekkSavvy) and even unlimited. In that respect Quebec Consumers are getting ripped off. To get higher Caps without paying over $50/month only option is to forego Cable for DSL.

I recommend all Videotron Customers to look at Electronic Box new pricing of $32 for 8/1 Mbps Cable with 75GB Cap, or $36 for 250 GB Cap which is a good value in Quebec. Ironically they are using Videotron Infrastrucuture, So why can Ebox which is leasing Videotron Infrastructure can provide more competitive offering ??? I'm anxiously waiting for EBox to setup POI in Gatineau. Word is that they'll be in town in April 2012 !!!

Having all four services for videotron i can say that it doesnt come cheap. Tv is good , cellphone as well. Telephone is ok. Internet could be alot better if it was not from the low bandwidth quota. You can max your quota with TGV 60 in 7 hours. Which is really stupid considering you have a 60mb line.

A very good ISP, a bit overpriced, but does provide one of the most reliable and stable connection compared to other ISP. Don't have to wait hours on the phone to get support.

Modem included. Price is $46. Speed is 8 Mbit/s with 50 GiB of bandwidth and when exceeding usage, $4.50 per gigabyte used up to a maximum of $50 per month. So unlimited connection for $96 plus taxes.

Overall I have to say better the devil you know than the devil you don't. I have never had anything but excellent internet service with the TGV 30.

The caps are not great, but then there hasn't been much on the torrents these days anyways.

Never had any problems with their phone service other than the battery backup never worked. Sound quality is indistinguishable from Bell.

My Other Reviews

·ELECTRONICBOX
I've been with them for around 5 years. Connection has always been reliable; I can't remember the last shortage I had, maybe once or twice in all those years. I was with AEI before and the lag while gaming was just unbearable at times. Since the switch, I got much faster download speeds (High-Speed package). Ping is low. However upload speeds are really low (~1Mbps) and it's impossible for me to host a game or upload a lot of content (e.g. on Youtube it takes hours to upload a video of a few hundred Mbs). Installation was easy, the technician came on a Saturday, however he charged us around 200$ because our coax inputs in the wall weren't "authorized" as we were using a splitter in the basement to split the signal throughout the house. The only thing he did was to replace the splitter with another one...not really worth the price. Also the modem is locked to the outlet, which is really not conveniant if you want to move it around. Overall I'm satisfied with their service since we have phone/cable/internet with them; however I'm pretty sure you can get a better price with small ISPs.

I've been with Videotron for over 10 years and the quality of their service has increased a lot lately. Unlike 10 years ago, when their service was a total joke, now i'm sure its one of the best in Canada. Tech Support is always helpful and you get answer from a real person when you call

I have internet, HDTV and phone with Videotron since august 2005, not a single problem with the service. it was fast, 7 mpbs, and reliable. The only problem was the limited monthly usage. I think 30 GB ( now it's 50 GB ) combined per month is not enough so I took the TGV15 with 90 GB per month. Added a mobile phone a few months ago. signal is not very strong in my apartment but everywhere else it's really good

This is quite an old review. It's 8 Mbps now, and the limit is 50 GB...
