Adelphia power link is in over there head in Buffalo ,New York .From the time I ordered power link service it was about 14 days till someone came over and hooked up the nic card and modem . Then they left and that was that. The installer said it takes about an hour and a half to start working and they had other installs to do.Needless to say my connection speed was about 46k and here it is 10 days later it's still slower than my 56k dail up modem. It's not just my area of Buffao either it's like this all over the city. There still signing up people as fast as they can and the system is at a snails pace. The system is really a mess here I been calling tech support for 10 days and they keep saying there working on the problem . The only good thing is this is my one month free test . It looks like I'll be going from the fire back to the frying pan (verizon).I thought the power link installer's were kidding when they told me that dsl in this area would be faster.

Adelphia Powerlink is the worst provider of cable internet EVER. I signed up for the one-way service (Cable download, telco upload). The installer that came was really cool, very intelligent, very knowlegable, and generally a pleasure to work with. His name was "Pete".
When he left, I was downlaoding at 230kBYTES per second. Baby was that great. About 2 weeks in, I started slowing down. Eventually I was back at dial up speed. Then it got worse. The cable would lose sync every minute, then sync back up, then repeat process. It was unusable. When calling tech support, I was told to give it a few days. I gave it a month and a half. No change. Then, as if it weren't bad enough, they started asking for my Social Security number before I could speak to a tech. I would give them it, and they would tell ME, get this, THAT MY OWN NUMBER WAS WRONG!
Needless to say, I dropped that service like a bad habit. Now I'm waiting for ADSL from Bellsout. A friend has it a few miles away, and I've used it at his house. I'll review when I get it.
