I recently moved from Memphis,TN to North Liberty IA. In Memphis I had comcast for about a year. Over that year they messed up my billing every month so I dropped them and went to ATT DSL. The speed drop was very noticeable. When I caught word that I would be moving up north to the Iowa City area, I began to look up the ISPs in the area. I found out that Mediacom and a local CO OP provided high speed access.
I looked at the different packages for Mediacom and came to the conclusion that I do not want to deal with another big cable giant. So I chose to go with this local company that provide FTTH. On 8/19/13 I placed my order for their 20/1 Rocket Internet service for only 44.50 per month. They rolled a tech out to my home the same day and got everything up and running in about an hour. So far the speeds are very consistent and the latency to servers are just incredible, to me anyway. I'm getting 21-22mbit/sec down and 1.2-1.5mbit up with a ping to Google of around 8ms! My DSL in Memphis had a ping of 45-50ms to Google and the lowest I ever saw was about 20ms to a server about 20 miles away.
Overall I very happy so far and would recommend this service for anyone who it is available too.

Good "Very fast and low price for business use compared to other options available."

Overall "Have to pay for two connections - one for speed and one for backup."

Value for money:
Our area cannot get DSL. Only 144K IDSL is available or T1 and fractional which is out of our budget. So we tried Rocket. Great speed when it works but their network is subject to interferance and poor network reliablity. There have been so many different problems that we realize now that this will never stop. We are looking for another solution. One cannot depend on them and they give no advance notice when taking the system down for maintenance. They do not return calls when the system is down. You've got to catch "him" on the cell phone. Bottom line is that the company seems to be too small, underfunded, not enough backup built into the network. This wirless technology is too fragile to depend on. Worst outage so far last several days. Rocket was waiting for a replacement part via messenger they said. They had misdiagnosed the original problem and replaced the wrong part.
