    Since DSL.Net revamped their customer service department, I have to say I
    satisfied with their service. I signed up for service on December 4th and
    was installed on January 3rd, which was faster than I expected. The line has
    been running at the 784k speed, without no problems. And the people I've
    talked to here in Providence haven't experience any problems with the speed
    of their service.
    When I talked to my rep, he told me of the changes taking place there. I
    have to they're on their way!.
    I read the other reports here and I haven't had any problems. We also have
    to remember that they're still a start up company and will have some growing
    pains.

    I was contacted by DSL.net by telephone in late October, 1999. I explained to the salesperson that I had already contacted BellSouth about DSL service, and was told it was unavailable at my location. She took some information, and told me she would check it out & call me back. Sure enough, a few days later I got a call back, and was assured that DSL.net could provide service. I signed a service agreement with DSL.net on Nov 2, 1999, and service was promised by Dec. 15.

    After signing the agreement, I was supposed to hear from a "coordinator" at DSL.net who was to arrange the installation. Several weeks passed with no contact. I made several calls, but heard nothing from my coordinator. Finally, I called and spoke with the VP of Marketing at DSL.net. She assured me that I would be taken care of, and I would have my service installed NLT mid January. On or about 7 January, someone else called from DSL.net, and told me they would not be installing my service after all due to problems with BellSouth. I asked the DSL.net rep. to confirm this in writing. She agreed, but as expected I am still waiting on this.

    I believe my treatment by DSL.net is due primarily to incompetence, but I am still waiting for an explanation as to why service was denied. Several calls to BellSouth failed to reach anyone who could even tell me who I should ask for an explanation. Needless to say, this has been a frustrating experience. My plans are to contact the Alabama Public Service Commission - hopefully if the PSC catches enough grief from angry consumers the telephone monopoly and DSL.net will become more responsive.

    We ordered a DSL line from DSL.net for our company in Greenwich, CT. Bell Atlantic installed the line 2 days ahead of schedule and DSL showed up the next week. No problems with the installation and the connection has been trouble-free.

    Equipment: Tut Systems 1100
    Line Speed: 384 Kps (speed was independently confirmed with test ftp transfers)

    Their Service is always down... don't ever wait for them calling you for problems... tech suppor pplt... are too stupid.... waiting for new service in the new haven area
