They're not Qwest! Bills are easy to read. Service works.
New in town so they're working out some bugs.

I switched my 4 phones lines for local and long distance service, and signed up for DSL sometime in October, maybe September when they were just getting started in the Salt Lake area. Phone lines were ported over at the end of November, DSL hooked up about 1/15/01.

I signed up for a business grade 512/512 connection (static IP, no PPPoe), but I'm getting 620-630kbs up and down speeds. Cost is $70/mo including ISP fee. I still do not have any mail server information, so I'm glad I have my own domain and my hosting company lets me use SMTP through them.

Integra provided the DSL modem, something from Paradyne. I connected it to a Linksys EtherFast Router, and then to my network. Getting net access to all machines was pretty simple. I like the Linksys router. It provides DCHP services and NAT, but I'm not deleting ZoneAlarm just yet.

Bad points: The guy just hooked up the modem and gave me a handwritten list of DNS servers, IP address, gateway, etc. No documentation on the modem at all, no other helpful configuration info. I had to learn how to connect everything based on the help files from the Linksys Router (again great hardware!)

Had my first service outage today (1/26/01) for about 20 minutes. Not sure of reason.

2/1/00 - Update. Got SMTP info from tech guys. Connections are consistently fast and on. They are still working out some bugs in the telephone line department, but I'm quite satisfied so far. When everything works smoothly, I will start recommending them to others.

Great DSL service -WHEN it's on.
Customer Technical Support is terrible. They never acknowledge service outages and are slow at correcting problems.
Excessive packet loss! Poor internal corporate communication and untrained personnel contribute to untimely solutions.

In hindsight, I should have chosen a more reliable SDSL provider. Although, Integra Telecom provides Business SDSL services - it's too unreliable for small business requirements. A more accurate statement would be that Integra provides DSL to businesses "most of the time, but no guarantee".

Integra is well positioned in the Business DSL market place, but does not provide enough hardware redundancy to maintain reliable SDSL service.

Poor download speed. Sometimes it will vary from 4KB/sec to a max of 20KB/sec. Test checked by dslreports.com and by main Microsoft server, which starts out at 80KB/sec and drops down and levels off at 11KB/sec. I pay for 192Kb/sec. My local, private phone company controls the dsl and I cannot get any other service. They are currently working-they say-on switching to a different network to fix the problem.

This is the only comment I've seen from the Prior Lake, MN area. I inquired about DSL a month ago, and was told that they were not taking any new customers for a month while they switched from outsourcing to doing it themselves. Now they're ready to sign me up if I want, and I'm wondering if things have changed since January.

Yes, they seem to have it figured out. I have had no problems, since they upgraded their system. I would recommend it. Their tech people are top-notch and really helped me when they were having problems.

I'm outta here!

I've been less and less happy since Imagina got bought by these guys. They want to be a telephone company, and have diverted resource from their datacom operation. They reduced support from 24/7 to 9-5/M-F without notifying anyone, including their business customers who pay over $50/month for a lousy dial-up line and 20MB website! They sent me threatening email, saying my web site was 50MB over quota, and they would start charging me per MB of overage. I spent hours tracking it down -- MY stuff was well under 20MB, but THEY had been putting logs into a hidden folder that came to almost 60MB! I deleted THEIR f*cking logs to stay in my quota.

Anyway, this is why I'm here -- looking for alternatives.

jury is still out

Still waiting on my sDsl to work correctly. They have been working on it now going 2 weeks. I get 4-11K bits per sec
of thru put. My dialup was faster. I am keeping my fingers crossed.

Has Integra gotten any better?

You posted a fairly negative review of Integra Telecom back in December 2000. I am wondering if you feel they have gotten any better since then? They appear to be the only source for DSL at my new house, so I am hopeful they have improved their service. I am considering their 3yr package of business phone line + DSL for $98/mo.

Can you tell me your current opinion of them for either phone or DSL service?

Thanks,
glen
