I ordered Millennium back in April and it was installed 1 week later. The installation almost didn't happen because for some reason it was rescheduled in their system but we talked to customer support and they had someone come out the same day instead of giving us the run around.

I went with Millennium to compete with the dominate providers in the area Comcast and Verizon. For the products I have Digital Cable with HBO, CIN, SHO, MOV, STRZ and HSI 6Mbps package I am paying about $60 a month. I had to pay $25 for install but no big deal. The speeds that I get right now are clocking in at 4.5 to 5.8Mbps. upstream is constantly at 980Kbps which is great. Never used their email service or the portal page since I have no need for it. The Digital TV service is clear and has allot of variety but no VOD :-( They did say that will be available in the near future. I could imagine that being a small provider might make it a little challenging to over the latest and greatest services. They also have a decent set of HD channels I am getting about 40+ HD channels.

Well to wrap up I would recommend new users to Millennium in the Glen Burnie area of MD.

    UPDATED-8/8/08

Well, since my last post...they upgraded the service to 16/2 in Glen Burnie, MD and the speeds have beeen clocking between 11.3 to 14.6 down and 1.4 to 1.7 up. So I have to say they did the upgrade as promised now I am just waiting for VOD which is supposed to be out later this quarter.

I do have one issue with the Motorola HD-DVR...on some channels it pixelates and gives a horrible picture at times.. but it hasn't been to bad were I would cancel I just think when they take their signal all digital than it would be better. Right now it's Hybrid Analog/Digital/HD and they DVR is buffering or recording an analog signal.

The OS for the DVR should get some improvements as well and please Broadstripe add some new networks i.e. The WORD network and Boomerang to name a few. I miss the Flintstones and the Jetsons!

I have had bad experiences with this company for two years, but they have recently rectified my situation. While service problems can be fixed in time, I think they need to focus on their support staff behaviour.

    Broadstripe

You're right. The name Broadstripe is the new little dog-and-pony show for its marketing efforts. Broadstripe is a consortium of small independent cable providers around the country who were being threatened by the big boys. Doesn't surprise me they are just using the name in marketing.

Summit, then Millenium, then Broadstripe has been notorious for years for poor, unresponsive service and they've been able to get away with it mostly because they have a service monopoly in a few spotty areas in Seattle (it's an east side company). The only improvements they've made have been due to satellite competition. The channel lineup sucked for a long time. They didn't carry a lot of the standard basic TV channels like MTV (when MTV was MTV) or Turner Classic Movies (they do now). They brag of 40 or so channels, but they repeat some of them. Channels 4, 5, and 7 are repeated on 44, 45, and 47. There used to be more Asian channels than there are now, but there must be at least 10 shopping channels. More standard basic channels were added after complaints were made to the Seattle Cable Commission - which by the way has an online complaint system. I urge you to encourage the commission to open up all of Seattle to competition from rival cable companies. Broadstripe, for instance, services only about four city blocks in Belltown. It's surrounded by Comcast's area. Same story with the Central District. I remember one of the restaurants in the area petitioned the city for the right to run a Comcast cable into its restaurant so that it could have digital music. Broadstripe didn't offer that for years after it was available.

And you're also right about the billing. Summit turned me over to collections years ago for two months service that I refused to pay for after I had requested service disconnection. I felt so strongly about their service and my experience with them that I've refused to rent apartments that I otherwise liked because Broadstripe serviced that building.

"few"
"constant outages"
"the worst of the bunch."

millenium cablespeed in my area is very unreliable. Outages every week. Cable modem losing its connection at least about once every 3 or 4 days, Outages last from a few hours to days with the modem constantly attempting to resync, somtimes getting a steady ready light for only a few minutes.

trying to contact cablespeed support is painful. very long waits getting through to phone support. i've usually had to give up.

also, i consistently loose connectivity on saturday and sundays from 10am to around 1:00pm as if this is the time some regular maintenance is run on their network and bandwidth is limited. there's never been an explanation for this, i have made a point to work around these known outage hours.

    My Other Reviews·Millenicom
Everything said about MDM is right. I cannot believe how bad they have
become. I've been with them for years now, and it just keeps getting
worse, notwithstanding their barrage of e-mails, telling us as customers
how hard they're working to upgrade our service and how much they
    appreciate our business.

It's gotten to the point now that you literally cannot sit on the phone
long enough to actually speak to a tech rep, and lately you cannot even
send an e-mail to their customer service; you'll get it back as
undelivered every time because their INBOX IS FULL! Now, isn't that
    something?

It would certainly be nice to have an alternative in Port Townsend, WA,
    for broadband and TV.

    MDM

I have MDM Mid-Atlantic and speeds have been slow at times. They are in the process of selling out to Comcast. Prior to finding out about this they gave me a $19.99 a month special for 5000/512 for a year without being locked in. This was just prior to Verizon installing FIOS in neighborhood. After year is up or service gets crappy, will move to FIOS.
