knowing all of the people that work there they have a very good support team. they know their work and are friendly and very good with people. they listen and put up with a lot of neg, people wanting something for nothing. been with them for quite awhile and transfered from dial up to wireless and enjoy the freedom we have with using our phones. member for 13.5 years, driveby review (so far) lodged 13.5 years ago
I have been With This Company for about 2 yrs. and have had only minor issues mostly on my part. The service has been exceptional with great tech support and a friendly staff that is helpful in getting things resolved. member for 13.5 years, driveby review (so far) lodged 13.5 years ago
I told Argon Tech I had a lot of trees. They came out to install, and basically told me I had to do major tree trimming to get service, if even then they could get it with a 50 foot side mount mast. They flat refused to refund our money $157.00, because they said we refused to cut our trees. We are senior citizens, our incomes are poor, being on Social Security, and I did not realize the full impact of their contract until they came out to install. It's a win win contract for them, and instead of the regular run of the mill routine contract, it's built to be totally in favor of them, the customer is at their mercy. As to their service, I can only guess, but from the first contact with them, I can only guess it gets worse as time goes along. Folks this company has ripped us off, and we are senior citizens. We will have to utterly destroy our beautiful trees to comply with their contract, and even then might not get a signal. Folks, NEVER sign up with these folks...unless you have no trees at all, and live close to their tower. The company is very friendly up front, but when the truck comes out to install, you find they continually look for you to terminate your contract by denying the cutting of so called limbs. I explained to them two other companies had come out, and could not get a signal. I explained I had lots of tall old trees. Nothing was said about the installers being law and them actually being able to cause me to forfeit my instillation fees. I paid half of the instillation fee, and the first month's service which came to $156.37, I have another instillation payment of a hundred dollars on the next month. They took my money, just like that. They have a contract that must have been written by the most dishonest lawyer on the face of the earth, it doesn't miss a thing. We grow used to contracts on everything, we trust companies wanting our business, and trying very hard to help us get that service we want. I was so eager to get broadband, and by the office girl's insistence there was no problem getting coverage, even though two other installers had been out. So I signed it, and gleefully looked forward to instillation day. They were scheduled for 10 am in the morning, they got there after two and it was 108 by our thermometer in the shade. The install guy, said he was not even sure he could get a signal at fifty foot with a mast, with the side mound option. They tell me to cut a 300 year old tree in half, trailer roof to way up to the sky. I was informed by a number of tree trimmers this would be a major job, and expense, involving lift equipment and several workers to haul the big branches. I'm disabled on social security, these folks did not intend to install my broadband, they must know they can't get a signal. They took my money because I would not destroy a 300 year old plus tree, and destroy the cooling of my trailer. It was clearly obvious they could have run two cables off to each side of the trailer without disturbing the fourty feet of nice foliage over our trailer. They kept saying, so your refusing to cut your limbs...! over and over, the girl in the office same thing. They must have done this before and have every avenue of recourser to me blocked. I was ripped off like a pre Kschool girl in diapers, because I trusted them. I do not believe they could carry on a normal business month to month without some form of the same treatment. Ive been with this company for about 2 years, for the first few months everything worked great. It was a dream come true to finally get off dial-up. But shortly after that it went downhill fast. Frequent disconnects, much slower speed than what started, Days without any internet connection. ABSOLUTELY NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. DO NOT BOTHER TO CALL THESE PEOPLE BECAUSE THEY ABSOLUTELY WILL NEVER CALL YOU BACK, THEY WILL ABSOLUTELY NEVER RETURN AN EMAIL. member for 14 years, driveby review (so far) updated 14 years ago
I have only been with them for a little over a week and I am still having to use my dial-up service! I really like their service when it works, it is nice and fast (for my needs anyway). It seems that when they are open the internet works great but anywhere from 6:30pm to 8:30pm it goes out and will not come back on again until 9 or 10am EVERY DAY. Now I am a night person so this is the most inconvenient time possible for it to be going out and essentially makes their "service" worthless. I have called and left numerous messages and have yet to get a return call and the 1 time I actually got through I spoke to a tech named Al**. The only "help" he gave me was to unplug my router (right after I had told him I do not use a router) for 30 seconds the next time it goes out and that should resolve it. Um... that is not tech help, that is a joke! I know my location is not the issue as my next door neighbor has their service and it works fine. Frankly I am not going to pay $50 per month for shotty service and if it is not fixed VERY soon I am shutting it off, filing a complaint with the BBB (stupid me didn't look BEFORE giving them $260 that they have a score of F with the BBB) and warning EVERYONE to stay away from them. It really sucks too because we were so happy to finally be back on a fast connection again. for anyone that wants to see... »www.bbb.org/dallas/busin ··· 19001996 member for 14.4 years, driveby review (so far) lodged 14.4 years ago

Phantom Wave wireless internet I've had argon wireless for 2 years now. When I signed up there were 3 wireless companies in my area. I could not access the tower for the other 2 so argon was my only option. Argon was the highest price for the lowest bandwidth of the 3. I needed off dial up so, I went with them. Service has been okay up until a few months ago. I lose connection with them on average every 1-2 weeks for at least a day. Worst case was 3 days with no connection. Resetting the router used to get me back connected, but that doesn't work anymore. I get errors saying cannot get ip address from server. I call the support line and they have an option to leave a message and they will get back with you before 9PM. Over the last few months that I've been losing connection, I've called around 10 times and have talked to a person once (that's when I called during business hours), and twice they left me messages while I was at work. I also emailed their support email, but they did not reply. Not sure what the issue is but usually after I leave a message it will just start working again the next day or so, but they never call and let me know they fixed or reset anything. I cannot recommend this company. I hope other options will become open in my area. member for 14.8 years, 1 visits, last login: 14.8 years ago updated 14.8 years ago
Phantom Wave 16x 768k Down / 128k Up $44.95 I'm approaching my 2-year anniversary with Argon Technologies, and I think I've had a fair amount of time to provide a real user's review of their service. I am not now, nor have I ever been, an employee of Argon. And even though I work with the main installer's lovely wife, I'm not at all biased. Everyone who knows me knows I always tell it like it is... good and/or bad. Yes, I've had some connectivity issues, which seem to happen at night or on weekends and holidays. But I've never experienced the long put-offs for service some of the people who've posted here claim to have experienced. Whenever I've had a problem, they've ALWAYS worked diligently to resolve it in a timely, professional manner. Argon Technologies is the absolute ONLY high-speed internet service available to those not centrally located in the town of Lone Oak. I wish there were others, so I could do some comparison shopping, but there aren't. My only other option for connecting to the Weird Wild Web is a dial-up service, so I'm very happy Argon Technologies is here to serve me. Much thanks to M.C., B.E., and N.G.! member for 15.1 years, 1 visits, last login: 15.1 years ago updated 15.1 years ago
So far i haven't had a positive experience with Argon. There install was quick and started with only a 10-15 foot tower. Install guys were on time and friendly. My connection didn't work though. Dropped conection every few minutes the first day. took a few calls and days to get someone to take a look at it. They went with a much larger tower, which i didn't mind at all. My connection still goes out 5-6 times a day at least They also just run the cable across the roof which looks pretty tacky. That added with them not returning calls has me wishing i went with someone else. UPDATE> Now a month later, service is still poor and actually getting worse. Connection drops a dozen times or so a day. At some point i'll just have to cancel and eat the 200 install cost. Overall i've been just flabbergasted at the poor performance and lack of customer service. member for 15.5 years, 5 visits, last login: 14.8 years ago updated 15.4 years ago |
