As a more-than-just-reading-your-email kind of user it was really important to me to find a decent ISP (anybody but Qwest). My secondary need was to work with somebody that peers with NERO (»www.nero.net) since I work for Oregon State University and want fast connectivity to my machines on campus (BTW - since they peer with NERO anybody that wants to get to an Oregon University System campus via this ISP will find it _very_ fast). I found Continet on-line and gave them a call. I told them what I had (Cisco 678) and what I wanted (basic bandwidth with dynamic IP's to connect to the University with) and they gave it to me straight ... no bull ... no up-selling. I signed up for the basic service which is $17.95/month plus my Qwest line charges which are $31.95/month. After I requested to get my DSL setup it was on in a matter of days (even though I wasn't living in the place yet). Setup was an absolute breeze ... I actually plugged everything in and just turned it on to see if it would work (and to see where to start debugging) and it was already working. No fuss, no muss. Anytime I have questions about my service (I wanted to up my speeds) they actually _called_ me instead of sending me a canned reply. That's the kind of stuff I like. I've referred everybody that works at Oregon State University that has DSL to use them and will continue to do so.
