I have read numerous reviews were you people get mad when the techs blame a speed isue on a router. Well ask yourself one question... did bypassing the router fix the problem?! I work for a cable company's tech support and I can tell you for a fact that we cannot blame it on the router unless we bypass the router and it fixes the issue and are required to run at least 2 tests that get the same results to verify this. If you put the router back on and the problem is still fine and you can prove its not the router then call back and them that retards!

I've read mostly complaints about how everyones service, has been either horrible or after katrina service has been just out right usless, you know ive lived where there was no such thing as High speed internet and all you had was dial up and yet still pay the 21 bucks to get it. most people dont relize that yes katrina was more then less fortunate, but think of how much it cost cableone to replace all the equipment to get you all service back up and running just so you as the customer can have internet again.
And to those people that complained about the unplug the router issues, Did It work? Yes. Reason being routers tend to drop information from the cableone modem.
Those that couldnt send or recieve email cause they had Mcafee installed and when you changed the mail servers back from 127.0.0.1 to mail.cableone.net! did it work? yes sure did.
Them cableone one people work hard to Get you BACK ONLINE. not them.
Think of other isp's Cox, comcast, roadrunner, yet there customer base is so much larger then that of cableones, we as the customer isnt the only person purchasing internet, so if someone tells you that theres an outage then yeah theres an outage no since in gettng mad about it, think of it this way do you honest think a tech wants to spend 45 minutes on the phone with one person only to find out that its either the lines in the house, a bad splitter or the line thats comming from the telephone pole to the house is bad. Prolly not. think about how mad those people are that after 45 min and its a line issue. or that internet explore dont work/open when you want it to only to tell you "your IE needs to be unistalled and reinstalled contact microsoft" Reason being is There an ISP they dont sell software, They provide a connection to the internet and thats it. If your Norton , Mcafee or Zone Alarm isnt working the way it should its not the isp's fault its your fault for getting a product that you cant configure.
You all take everything for granite and arent even thankfull for what you have, chances are if it werent for CalbeOne you would still be sitting at home on dial up cause for the most part thats all there was at the time. Or it was some super expensive Satilite Connection that drops every time it rains.
Heres a small break down of what you pay for varies from state to state
Broadband === super fast at times and slow at others. ==== its a shared line thats why ==== most provide cable tv as well
DSL ===== Stable===== not as fast as broadband. and about the same price ===yeah you can get cable tv but its through a satilite or another cable company.
So next time your unable to check your email or surf the web , dont get mad at the techs that are trying to get YOU back online. just do what they tell you to do and sure enough 9 times outta ten boom your back online.
Think of your internet as if you were going to the store and they were out of somthing. what do you do ? you ask for help. you dont blow up at the little cart pusher cause theres no mayo on the shelf.

Ordered the 3000/300 package when I first into the area back in July on a month-to-month contract. Yearly prices were less, but at that time were only available for the 1.5Mbps service. Setup was pain free - just ordered over the phone, drove into the office to pick up a modem since I didn't care to wait a day for "installation," and about 10 minutes after connecting it was fully up and running. Several weeks ago, CableOne re-tooled their packages to include new speeds, and I was automatically bumped up to 4000/400 for the same price. Speeds have consistently been solid, and while they do have a sort of automatic speed cap that reduces the connection speed with excessive traffic, it's extremely difficult to hit unless you are able to completely saturate the line for long periods of time. Latency hasn't been a problem, and gaming has been smooth with no issues. Since I've been hooked up, I also have yet to experience a service interruption. Other than an upload speed that leaves a little to be desired, I've been extremely happy with my CableOne service.

I was one of the original subscribers when Cableone brought cable Internet access to the area. At the time I was a remote Systems Consultant for Dell and required reliable bandwidth, so after a brief side-by-side trial I stuck with Bellsouths DSL offering. Then I left town for a few years. When Cableone started offering higher speeds than DSL, my Father, who lives in the area se well, switched from Bellsouth and has been very pleased. At 68 he is something of an Internet Pirate and makes full use of all the bandwidth he can acquire. The service has been stable and provides the promised bandwidth. Now I am back in town and I have subscribed to Cableones $59.95, 5000Kbps down/500Kbps up, Residential Pro plan. Ordering was quick and easy with a call to the local office. The installer was here 3 days later as promised to hook the house up to the cable system and I used the Motorola SB 5100 I had from my last home. Over the week I have been using the system my down-stream bandwidth has been very erratic and slow, but the Tech Support folks have admitted to some anomalies for which they want to find a root cause. As my Father has had such a great experience, I am withholding judgment for now. But even if they cant meet the 5000Kbps down/500Kbps up, as long as it is consistently better than the 1500/256 DSL offering Ill stay on board. They are the only game in town for 3Mb+ Internet access.

I was with heritagewifi but I had to many issue and no usenet. I decided to go back to cableone. At first I had a few issue's but they have sence gone away. I just called them today to inquire about getting their video service and was notified they had upgraded bandwidth. I am now at 5megabit. WOW. I tried a bunch of different speed test all over the net, dslreports.msn speed test, cnet, toast and a few others and they can't pump me enoff bandwidth. I checked usenet and holy crap I am getting around 5.2megabit, 540kbs up! Install was simple, they had left the cable connected on the pole and all I did was hook the modem up and off I went. They came by a few days later and installed a video filter.

I had Cable One installed in March, and I've been very happy with the service. I signed up for 3000/300 at $49.95, and I almost always had between 3100-3200 in speed tests. In late July, I was upgraded to 4000/400 for no extra charge. Speed tests since the upgrade have been very nice. I usually get between 4300-4400 in speed tests. So far, the service has been excellent.

Must be good to live in a medium-sized community. Had CableOne Internet for 3 years. Always good speed, periodically increased at no increase in price, currently 3 MB/s down consistently. Support from local techs & admin fast, courteous and effective. I pay for, expect and receive excellent service. And no, I don't work for CableOne, and have no friends or relatives who do.

Cable one came out within 3 hours of signing up for service and I was up and running. They also replaced the underground line going to my house which was in pretty bad shape. A great experience so far.

Well i just moved to Long beach Mississippi and we order the 3000/300 Tier on Thursday and the lady said once we picked up the modem from the office that it would be turned on. so Friday we picked up the modem. had to set up computer and such so didnt plug in modem till Saturday. so i plug everything in. nothing happened... so we went outside and found that cable one only had hooked up 2 Cable outlets outside to my house. so i had to unplug one outlet and plug the one in that is hooked up to my modem. so another words i gotta get a 3 way splitter to split all 3 Cable outlet. but once i plug it in. it went on line. and im gettin 2200/280 so far. its still pretty fast. and im so happy with Cable one so far. so if your thinking of trying them. Advice you to do SO! they are great.
