I have had nothing but good experiences from Insight from ordering to service reliability to pricing to friedly customer service. member for 17.3 years, 1280 visits, last login: 12 days ago updated 16.4 years ago
Left WindStream DSL and phone service. They did not want to compete with insight on price or internet service, so I left them. Now I have 10M internet and phone service at lower price than had with WindStream. Go figure! Installation was on time for the date I requested. The RCA DCM425 cable modem linked the first try. And my D-Link 614+ router connected with no trouble. Naturally my PC settings may need some tweaking, and dslreports is great help with that issue. So, overall "Life is Good". member for 22 years, 90 visits, last login: 9.9 years ago updated 16.5 years ago
Insight Cable is a great company to deal with. Their customer support staff is extremely helpful and their technicians do their work quickly and on a very convenient work schedule. However, as the good/bad points attest, the connection quality is a toss-up. It can be good, it can be horrible. I understand that cable is a great deal of shared bandwidth, but sometimes it's just unacceptable. Coming from a university technical support staff worker, believe me - there are times you just want to throw the modem out the window. member for 16.6 years, 1 visits, last login: 16.5 years ago lodged 16.6 years ago
Insight offers local service from local providers. The in-home techs are always on-time. They are pleasant and don't have body odors or other issues. Even though the company is HQ'ed in Louisville, KY, I feel they are my hometown provider. I recommend them completely. I had a modem problem once and they replaced it without hestitation or cost to me. member for 22.2 years, 28 visits, last login: 16.2 years ago updated 16.6 years ago
I signed up for the 15 / 1.5 on 01/27/2007. So far things are good im usually getting around 13 meg all the time and late at night I see the full 15 meg but 13 is fine for me especially during peak times. UPDATED - 04/12/2007 - Things are getting worst 7 meg down all the time no idea whats going on tech said bad wiring but cant fix. UPDATED - 06/09/2007- Things have gotten better. It seemed that the node I was on was overloaded. Insight did some work on it and everything has been fine since. I tried Insight Phone out for a month or so and it was just as comparable to Sunrocket really so I switched back to Sunrocket. I am still on the 15/1.5 plan with Insight I usually get above 15 mb down and I seem to max my upload out at 1.3.| UPDATED - 08/10/2007 - Things are getting worst. Cant even get my upload to get about a meg. They say they are going to send a tech about, but we all know how that works. Ill update later on. member for 17.9 years, 1082 visits, last login: 7.9 years ago updated 16.6 years ago
I've been an Insight customer since June 2005, and, coming from dial-up, I will never go to DSL. That being said, we had the intro price ($30/month) for two years, and this June, they put us on some bs (Insight Rewards), so now its $35. When our speeds crashed due to torrent downloading, (which we were at about 1000kbps max) support brought it right back up. They came out ran some tests, slapped a splitter on the input and its fine. I said reliability was above average because it has crashed before, and a few times around 1 or 2 in the morning, the signal just died (lights on the modem flashing). I've got way up and down on the speeds, I think after a recent test I was at 5500kbps, after Insight came out, it was at 13000kbps, sometimes its at 9000kbps, it really varies. But hey, I'll give them props....even though the speeds are like a roller coaster, they are still faster than what they were when we signed up at 4000kbps. This service should be no more than $35, IMO. member for 18 years, 97 visits, last login: 6.3 years ago updated 16.6 years ago
I've had Insight Cable for over 2 years and I'm very, very satisfied with them. I've only had to contact them a couple of times and it was for VOIP issues. When they upgraded their servers, it was a major issue for my VOIP w/Sunrocket as the QOS was horrendous. After a 3+ months it was finally fixed. BUT... even though it took a long time for Insight to finally fix everything, they offered fabulous support and even gave me close to a month of free Internet service. Recently moved to the NKY area from Cincy (Time Warner RR). I find the Insight BB service to be just as good/stable as my prior RR setup in OH. The only downside is the cost, as Insight is good for their "tack-on" fees - i.e., modem charge, everything has to be bought in one of their offered bundles of telephone, cable TV service etc., or you don't get the modem for free (you get nickle/dimed to death). But overall I'm happy with the service and I'm usually able to get close to the advertised speed. member for 16.7 years, 51 visits, last login: 16.3 years ago lodged 16.6 years ago
I've been an Insight Broadband client since the roll-out over ten years ago, and I've experienced great reliablility and pretty good tech support (although I never have to call them really). They have always upgraded my equipment for free after each bandwidth upgrade, even though I originally purchased my own equipment and pay no rental fees. I'm really happy with the service and would recommend it over any other ISP's in the area - especially Iglou! It's a little bit expensive for my taste - $49.95, but I pay for the reliablility and speed. member for 19 years, 326 visits, last login: 13 days ago lodged 16.6 years ago
