South Jordan, UT I have been using Broadband Solutions for several years (3rd name for the company since I started). While internet access via Comcast cable is available now in my area, I have little reason to switch. I have direct line of site with the Jordan Commons tower.
I have not had any problems at all in the last year. I have a 512kbps link (both directions) for $45 per month. I have never checked the line speed where it was less than 500kbps. I use xbox-live and my kids have World of Warcraft and play is good (not great), about the same as cable. Cable (my son lived in apt with Comcast for a year) has much faster download speeds, but the upload speeds are usually less so online playability is about the same.
I have never had a problem that could not be resolved quickly, although there is no support outside of 9-5.

I used to pay for a speed of 64 kilobits per sec up and down for $39. That was the highest I could ever get. We had an airbridge (thing on roof) which caused us to get best signal because it could reach a good distance. Broadband Solutions had decided to give us another deal to replace it. Turns out that new thing they purchased called something like a EZBridge from Teletronics can't get the range we used to to get to the access point and have good signal. I so many blackouts so I talked with broadband about the issue and they said if I paid more I would get more speed and better signal.
I decided to increase the speed to try to see if it could help me surf the internet more. I currently pay for 256 kilobits per sec up and down for $45 dollars since we have been on their system for 2 years. After deciding to upgrade, I get a lot worse than before. Constant blackout, when we don't get blackout we get 64 kilobits per sec and if we are lucky, we can get up to 190 kilobits per sec.
I feel that they keep toying with us because they have told us that they would need to get us something else for the roof and it would cost us more monthly. I am to the point of closing the account down as soon as the contract is over and then getting on with digis for a lower price, better speed and signal from them like neighbors have talked about it since they are of that service.

At my location I can't get cable or DSL so this was my next best option to a slow dial up. At my last house I had 256k DSL and I have the 256k wireless now. I honestly believe that the 256k DSL delivers a more consistent speed. With the wireless sometimes it works fast, then sometimes you're looking at a blank screen for minutes (the slow dial up was faster). So after spending $425 on equipment and $45/month am I happy? Yes, until DSL or cable come to my hood.
When I ordered the service they said they would install the equipment in a couple of days, a week later I called to see where my equipment was and they said it would be a couple more days. In a couple days the guy came, he said it would take half an hour to install. Two hours later, it's now 10pm, he says he has to come back the next afternoon to fix it. He can't come in the morning because he has to do a half baked job on another client. The guy doesn't even show the next day. Two days later he shows up 3hrs late and finishes the job. Somebody needs to by these guys a few watches because they have no concept of time.

They put up a new tower at the mouth of Big Cottonwood Canyon and I was one of the first people to be setup on that tower. It took awhile for them to get the tower going because of receipt of wrong radios and other reasons. Now that they do have it installed it's great. There is nothing bad to it......except that our 2.4 Ghz phone interrupts the connection everytime somebody uses it or it rings. Until the completion of the tower, I couldn't get any kind of broadband except satellite...which I would rather not do.

My speeds gone down the toilet. Broadband Central has moved into the area and is probably interfering with the service. I'll probably have to switch to them to get any decent speeds.
