Speed ordered: 256 up/down; has never fallen below that
Static IP with modem in routed (PPPoA) mode
Hardware: tried to secure a Cisco 678 via eBay, but supplier (Unlimited Traders) sold me a known-to-be-defective product and stiffed me for $75. Finally rented an Actiontec GT701, with mixed results. Note that none of this, of course, has to do with the ISP in question, since Qwest is the hardware supplier I'm renting from.
Good tech support with high availability.
