I recently moved to a rural area of San Joaquin County, CA. I run a business from home wherein high speed internet is vital. After being told that the best I could do was an ISDN line from SBC, I began doing my homework. CalDSL provides wireless service to the Central Valley from Lockeford to Tracy. Initial attempts to log on were unsuccessful, but Chau did not give up. Following installation of our own tower, creating our own high speed wireless access point, I now have secure service at speeds up to 1500/1500 up/down.
Communication was constant and personable. I am dealing with a local company, not some SBC bureacracy with never-ending voice mail. When you call CalDSL, you reach a live person, or one returns your call within minutes. Monthly service runs as low as $39.90 per month. Installation does not mean sending you a box. CalDSL sends a real human (with a real personality) to do a complete installation and ensure that all equipment and connections are working properly. They will even set up a home network for you! And unlike others, CalDSL does not charge extra for extra computer connections.
NEVER SAY NEVER. If you live in the Central Valley and have been unable to receive any type of high-speed service, or if you are simply fed up with SBC's lack of service, check out www.CalDSL.com today! I am one very satisfied customer.
Leslie

We have had dsl at this location for awhile and the DSL goes out alot (all problems on their end). When leaving a message, they do not return the call for hours and we can not do business. We are forced to cancel DSL service since they do not provide what a customers need.
DO NOT BUY. 1 person runs the whole opperation and DOES NOT CALL BACK FOR A LONG PERIOD OF TIME!!!!! I hate to say this, but i'd rather have SBC =0
We are rolling out a new WAN and setting up t1 service to this location, sorry, your dsl sucked.

"Incredible u/l speeds of 1.5mb or better, static IP, 600-800kbps d/l"
"peak usage time on first day was 300kbps down"
"Good alternative to Comcast, great customer service, local company"

It only took 2 days till I was live from order. SBC DSL isn't available in Weston Ranch, and Comcast wanted me to sign-up to for TV service too. Caldsl - Zinnianet looked like a good option. I've only been live for 24 hours and I'm averaging 650kbps d/l and 1.6mbps upload. I got a static IP for $10 more a month and they give you 2 weeks to decide if the service is good enough.

I ordered 1000/1000Kbps service for 49.00 a month. I have seen as high as 1565/1595 and as low as 258/258. Just depending on the weather and the network load. Zinnia Networks has done some upgrades to keep up with demand and I have been seeing around 800/800Kpbs on average. Beats the 320/120 I was receiving from PacBell.
I ordered the service online. I didn't hear from or receive a confirmation from Zinnia Networks for several days. So I gave them a call and was able to get a confirmation of the order process. My install was time sensative due to some requirements for work and Chau worked with me to get the a good install time. The installer was really professional and did an awesome job running the cable and installing the antenna. The job was clean and quick.
My currnet setup is for dynamic IP. But for 10.00 a month more, I can get a static.
I have to say I am much happier with Zinnia Networks than I was ever with SBC. SBC is far removed from Customer Satisfaction and is quick to say the problem is not theirs and it takes for ever to just get a person on the phone who knows how to resolve issues. If you live in Tracy. Go with Zinnia - and forget SBC.
