 "Even at 112k of IDSL it seems sooo much faster! AND it was even done when they quoted" "Problems installing the line could have been minimized if techs had give the correct IP addr first" "Recommend everyone come on in the water seems fine at least I haven't seen any sharks yet"

I have just gotten my IDSL connection running last week. I have to say that
everything went very well.
I completed all the paperwork the week of April 10th.
Made one follow up call in May to verify progress.
BellSouth installed the line when I they were scheduled to.
I did have to make one call that I felt I should have - to find out I needed to set up the installation with Rhythms.
Rhythms was prepared to install the remaining connections the week of May
29th. My schedule required a reschedule for June 6th.
On time on the 6th. There were a few installation problems, mostly because of the phone wiring in my home. Biggest problem was tech didn't give out the correct IP address to the installer. Still, the whole process took 4 hours.
I have since set up a Linux server as a gateway on my home network and it
works perfectly. Other than my own fine tuning, I have no problems. Since BellSouth wouldn't support a similar network installation, I am glad Phoenix was more flexible.
So far, I have been fairly impressed. All the complaints and horror stories had me nervous but it appears I am living right.
