12 month prepay commitment for 384K (up and down) cost $479.40. DSL modem, though not propriatary, HAD to be bought from them or they wouldn't provide service. I found the same model they use on ebay for about $20 and they charged $199.00 for the modem. They offered installation at a cost of $70, but I decided to do it myself. They also managed to sell me 4 phone line filters before I realised that $15 each was alot of money for a phone line filter. Also, their DSL modem is bizzare and requires a crossover cable to run directly to a PC, luckaly I'm using a router. All DSL accounts will also require a $50.00 activation fee. Uses a static IP address and gives good speeds but somtimes go down randomly really late at night. Account included 5 MB webspace and 5 email accounts.

Total cost was somthing close to $790, but I'm set (locked in even) for a year and next year I only have to pay monthly. I'm located in a really rurual area, the only other option out here is sattlite and dialup. I think they call that a monopoly Anyways, had they given me the modem for free or let me buy my own I would be alot less hesitant to get DSL. The $50 activiation fee should cover the price of a modem. The mothly rate is pretty high also, but bearable when it's being paid monthly which is not the case here. Overall, when it's your only option other then dialip, it's your only option.

Racc2000 has been the best ISP i've ever had to deal with, their sales person was informative and helpfull in deciding what plan to go with. ANOTHER plus is all the plans are SDSL, so you get as much up bandwidth as down. ALSO, my installation came in 3 days early, which is totally amazing if you have ever had to deal with horrid installation times. In my area there is absolutely no option for broadband besides satellite (which sucks). And this DSL is awesome reliable bandwidth for the money. I have done several DSL reports tests and i always get my advertised speed (384k/384k). I picked up my modem on ebay for 18.50 with shipping. I bought a Paradyne 6310 which Racc2000 flashed the firmware up to 6350 specifications at no cost. They are extremely knowledgable and helpfull and I highly recommend their service.
