I've been fighting with these guys...well girl since there is apparently only one person that works tech support... for months. The only thing consistent about this service is the packet loss. More that 5% loss on a regular basis. I've done all I can to get assistance, but I get the generic "this issue is being forwarded to a technician" canned response every time. It seems that the only troubleshooting the support tech knows how to do is run a test at speedtest.net which tells me nothing. The download speed sticks at sub-1Mbps for about 99% of the test at which point it miraculously jumps up to my contracted speed. Packet loss is frequently more than 10%, Hulu/You Tube are completely unusable. Downloading a system update for my Mac is sitting at 36 hours remaining. Voice over IP is a lost cause even though I specifically was told that there would be no issues with it on the Partnership connection. Beyond the technical issues, the installation tech was completely befuddled by the firewall setup I have. It's not a complex setup, but he had never seen it before and almost wouldn't complete the install (Cisco stuff). Then, about a month after installation, the tech, who had no identification tried to get my wife to let him in the house because he "thinks he left a tool behind" at which point he was refused entry and then proceded to climb around on my roof un-permitted. This company is absolute junk and continue to operate as such because of the lack of competition. There is a new provider in town (which also gets poor reviews) but at least there is an option. The only reason they have customers is because they have a captive audience in these rural areas.

Of course, no one posts a bad review if their service was good, so lets start with the actual service: internet access...

Plan speeds were to be 6Mb/s down and 2 up as minimums. I paid for the top of the line plan which claimed to be uncapped(if they had 12Mb/s at that time you got it etc).

Install was EXTREMELY shaky. The guy had the antenna up in 10 mins, great.

Then spent about an hour getting the account configured. He kept telling me how he had been doing this so long everything was in his head. And then kept going to his truck or phone to get more info. Telling. He banged away at MY computer(did not bring a laptop or anything to hook up himself, which would have been alot better), and once he did have me connected, the speeds were horrid. .5(half) a Mb/s down and 2 Mb/s up. He kept testing and tweaking, swearing up and down he didn't understand, my modem to tower signal should mean I had 10Mb/s down at least etc etc...

My mistake? I believed him and accepted install, because he would go to the tower and check something then call me back that evening.

Of course I never heard from that guy again and the speeds never got better.

5 phonecalls and 2 weeks later, I finally get a tech to give me the straight skinny: The signal strength I get from tower to modem won't support more speeds than the terrible ones I was getting and he had no idea how anyone could look at the data and read it any different. It was time to cancel, and that's where the real horseshit starts.

I call them to get my 30 day money back guarantee. They ask me why, I tell them. They tell me they have to have it in writing and give me their mailing address. I raise a stink because they had no trouble letting me sign UP over the phone. They back down to giving me the email address to cancel, info@partnershipbroadband.com. I email that address and await a response.

3 days later... I call them back. To which they tell me I have the wrong email address. I tell the guy who I talked to and that he told me info@partnershipbroadband.com. He actually tells me, I know that guy and I've heard him give out the cancellation address alot, and he never gives it wrong. Now if you think about that sentence I'm not sure whether to punch the asshole through the phone or laugh out loud at how much he just lifted the company's skirt with that statement. Anyways I tell him thats no way to talk to a customer and I get the real address. I send the email to cancellation@partnershipbroadband.com and await a response.

3 days later.... I call them back. I tell the guy I am not playing any more games and not hanging up till I get confirmation from them they received my email(which would also confirm I notified them in my 30 days still). He tells me he will forward it to the right guy and tries to get me off the phone. I tell him if he does I will call back for his supervisor. He goes to talk to his supervisor to get him to finish the cancellation while I wait. After 10 minutes he comes back to tell me his super is in a meeting and can't do it yet. I tell him we can sit here all day then. At which point he sends me a confirmation of receipt of the email, and tells me he will have the supervisor call me back that day when the actual cancellation is processed. I see the email receipt so I let him go.

2 weeks later.... Partnership Broadband has now charged me for another month. They now owe me refund for two. I have placed another phone call and another email and status is still quo.

Make no mistake:

1. These guys WILL fuck you out of money and will not have a conscience about it.

2. I WILL get a lawyer over shit like this and I WILL get alot more than they owe me in refunds because I can show they got my cancellation in time.

Can you tell I'm pissed?

After trying several wireless ISP's out here in the sticks, I had resorted to using a sprint card for the last 2 years. I placed the order and the installer was here 5 days later. He took the time to find the exact spot on our tree covered property that gave me the best signal. He then tool the time to route the cable in a neat manner - just like he took pride in what he was doing. I have the service running on a wireless router and have not experienced any issues as of this date. The service has only been installed for 2 months, but the trees are fully leafed out now and I am still getting a rock solid signal. There are several other people in this community that use their service and all are satisfied. I have not had to contact tech support or service yet, so do not know how that might go.

By the way, I am contracted for 2/768 and almost always get 7/2 at speedtest.net from the Dallas server.

I have about 7 month's worth of results from Speedtest.net and approximately 40% of the time, we'll get speeds as advertised by Partnership Wireless. The other 60% are spent with speeds below dial-up and lots of outages (regional, not just me).

Technical support is a joke. I called in and they said that there were not packet losses. Yes, I get that, but the latency is what's the problem. They had no idea what I was talking about. It's sad when the customer knows more about networking than the technical support.

Stay away if you have other alternatives!!

I've created a blog to document my problems with Partnership Wireless / Partnership Broadband - »www.twumba.org

live in rural Denton County in an area that has been ignored by cable, DSL and fiber optic internet providers. I was thrilled when I learned of a company called Partnership Wireless (PW) that could possibly allow me to progress from dial-up internet. After a short consultation I decided to purchase service from PW and had their antenna installed on a 6 foot metal rod on the top of our house.

The service worked well at first, but after a couple of weeks we began to experience periods of limited connectivity. The internet would go from being decently fast, to taking 10 minutes to load a simple webpage. I called the PW technical support number and spoke to man who seemed quite arrogant. The man told me their internet was working fine, and that any problems experienced were the result of my computer. During the course of the conversation he blamed my internet router and my computer. When I disputed his claims he stated that he would have “somebody” call me back to further discuss the issue. The call never came.

I’ve called PW technical support on 7 different occasions over the past 2 years and have received a similar response each time, along with a promise that somebody will call me back to resolve the issue. I’ve never received a call back from anybody at PW. I’ve also tried emailing the address listed on their website, but have never received a reply.

At this time our internet continues to be unstable. I estimate that it works 20% of each day, and usually only at the times when we don’t have a need to use the computer.

Speeds are very consistent with Partnershipwireless blazing wi-fi if you like Dial up speeds, but you'll pay five time higher price than dialup. No senior technician is willing to help with speed problems since they seem to work 20 hour weeks, no weekends or nights. It was always a problem with my equipment until by miracle someone showed up to help me. Their own laptop was getting the same dial up speeds that I always get. Never a desire to follow a problem to completion. No call back as promised. Must start over every time I call because the notes written down by the tech are not accurate.

No Staff.

No Customer service.

Very consistent billing, whether or not one has service.

Wow, where do I start. The idea of fast Internet speed sounds great. What you get is the slowest system in the world. I have only received customer NO service from this company. After 3 months of calling and e-mails to tech support they sent out a tech who stated my antenna was not in the correct position. He adjusted it and I had a connection for two weeks. Then back to 27K. Again more calls to customer NO service with no reply. Someone please let me know of a reliable company in Aubrey TX

I live in the country and I've successfully had Hughes satellite service for over three years. I switched to the RF/wireless Partnershipwireless because they advertise true broadband speeds for a little cost.

The installer was friendly and professional. I initially had service for a few hours but at 200kbs. I called, eventually the same tech came out a week later and increased my antenna height ...still bad connection. He called his company and ordered a better antenna for me.

End result - three weeks...no service. My only other options are an air card or go back to Hughes Satellite service. Hughes is okay...but they have a limit on how much can be daily downloaded.

I'm extremely....extremely disappointed.

The person that did my installation was very friendly, professional and helpful. The customer service group called me after the installation to ask me if everything was to my satisfaction. They called me again 2 weeks later to make sure everything was ok. I am getting 1.5 meg consistently and burst up to 2 meg. First 3 months are at $29.95. I would recommend service.
