  • "Great! for the correct mind-set"
  • "wireless broadband as alternative where cable and FiOS is not available"

My Other Reviews

·Verizon FiOS
rs|air is wireless broadband. An alternative for broadband service where Cable or DSL or FiOS are either not available, or are still overpriced due to slow uptake by local customer base.

almost three years later they still suck!!!!!
and no they don't actually provide services they say they do on there site!!
they cant provide fios service only re-sell what Verizon offers hummm and there priced higher then the actual service!!

it sucks!!!!! slow and when the wind blows you have no connection. i had no service for 2 months while they played with it and then left me hanging until i called them and was informed they were reteriveing the equipment they seem to fall asleep when it comes to communicating with the customer!!!!!!!!!!!! and boy do they love to make excesses for there problems!!!

i would never go back to this isp ever!!!
i had service well sort of for about 7 months and in that time i could use it for about 4 months you do the math i got robbed!!!!
they took 120 bucks plus 49 from me on day 1 and then 49 a month there after i only got 98 back!!

I use my rs air mostly for gaming, and it has to be the lowest latency Internet I have ever used, a MUST for gaming. Every server I go into I have the BEST connection all the time. No more LAG....I Have a XBOX 360 and I use to get booted all the time when I had Verizon FIOS in south Tampa, And it was killing me because it would make my Rank go down because it thinks I backed out on those Matches. Now I'm a Level 55 in Call of Duty 4 haha thats a good thing.

I got a Static IP - Every Speed test I run is always constant, I use speedtest.rapidsys.com - 5MBs down and 3MBs up, give or take about a 15% increase or decrease. ( even though I only pay them for 1MB Hurricane Package ) I ping my ISP's Gateway and its unbelievable I only have 1ms - 3ms Ping times. Its as if I'm pinging my local router. I haven't seen any bandwidth throttling, I tried maxing my connection out and it never dropped in speed.

They just installed a small square looking thing on my chimney - The Installers were really cool. Has a cool green light at night...And they ran a cable into my house that plugs directly into my router. They gave me a D-link router even though I told them have my own that I use. Thats cool i guess...They said I can use any router I want at any time because they don't Bind my IP to the MAC address like Verizon and Brighthouse do, whatever that means....

And I never had to talk to them since..So I felt it was necessary to give them something back, So heres my review. Highly recommend them if your a gamer.

I live in a rural area in central Florida and RS/Air and HughesNet were my only two options. Let me say to anyone out there that if you are within the serviceable area of this company and are unable to get conventional broadband, go with RS/Air. If you are within 1-8 miles or so of one of their towers (and you likely will be) then your service will be OUTSTANDING! Also, their installation team was wonderful and their tech support is top notch.

I had Rapid Systems DSL and had a great experience using their DSL service prior to moving to WestChase area. So I called them up and informed them of the dates that I would be moving and to see if they had any service in that area.

After speaking to Chris one of their tech's, I was informed that unfortunately most of my area is not capable of DSL service but they had a product called RSAIR that was deployed in my area. Being I used to work for the phone company and a technically competent type of nerd I was somewhat skeptical of any wireless product so I asked to speak with the most knowledge person there about the product, speeds, security and more.

I ended up having a very good conversation with Justin and he answered all of my questions about it, the service sounded really great, so he scheduled a free site evaluation for someone to come out and see if I could get the service.

I received a call back the next day from Justin stating that there was no problem getting the service at my location and the installation could be scheduled within the next day or so weather depending.

The installers came out and got me up and running quickly. They installed a Motorola canopy antenna / radio on the back of my home (very small – 11 inches high / 3 ½ wide) and ran the cable into a Linksys 4 port router that they include during the course of the service. I got a static IP address and the password for the router.

I'm very happy with the service, installation and keeping the same ISP that I have been using for some time now. One interesting thing has been the symmetrical speeds that they offer with the service. Also I was impressed that they use their own installers and they explained everything to me while they were doing the installation.

At times I do some uploading to my office VIA Citrix and I can really tell the difference with the larger upload. I started with the 49.00 512/512 packaged and have just upgraded to the 59.00 1meg/1meg package. (This took a quick phone call and it was done in seconds).

I can’t recommend the service more if you are located in WestChase or other area’s of Tampa that Rapid Systems has deployed their wireless service. If someone can tell me how to post a picture of the equipment to this review, I will be more than happy to post what the installation looks like.
