Don't know how merger with Allegis Telecom (now called Hosting.com) will change thing. Service has been good. Install on the day promised. Tech support gets SWBell to respond to problems in a reliable manner.

They are complete conns! When they had us go with northpoint they charged us $300 for the modem/routers for the connection. Just 1.5 months
later northpoint went under and they refused to work with us. They would only offer a second DSL solution and not a refund. I highly recommend everyone stay away from them they are the worst I have ever had to deal with. They have a I don't care attitude. I'm currently talking to an attorney concerning them and looking into a lawsuit because of how poorly they treated us and took our money. They had my
father, my brother and myself totaling up to over $1200 just for installs not including monthly fees. They do not know how to take care of their clients and are now way overpriced for the service and speed you get...

After losing my Flashcom/Northpoint connection in late March, I decided to give jump.net a try. I submitted an online order for a 384k down/128k up adsl line with static ip and received a confirmation number and a contract via email. A few days later I called to see how it was going, and I was informed that there was a remote terminal in my area that would be operational shortly. I figured that this would be the best solution as I am around 15000 feet from the CO, and could only get about 400k with my previous Northpoint sdsl line. About three weeks later, I received an email saying that my install date had been set to May 1. All was well so far... In the meantime ASI came out to test the line, the tech said that he couldn't find a dsl signal on the line and would submit a trouble ticket. About this time, I got another email informing me that the install date had been moved back to May 4. Okay, not a big deal yet. Then a few days after the second scheduled install date and still with no dsl, the voice line that the dsl was supposed to be carried on suddenly went dead. This happened on a Friday evening and didn't get fixed until the next Monday night. I was told by the swbell repair tech that they had switched my line over to the remote terminal and failed to see that the line from the rt didn't make it to my house yet. (there is a new underground cable that had just been laid but not connected yet) So the entire order was held up for a few weeks, in the meantime I noticed some swbell crews splicing in the new cable. After this was done, I had a hard time trying to get swbell to come out and complete the outside wiring. Every time I mentioned dsl on the phone to them, they immediately referred me to asi, who could do nothing with outside wiring. I eventually just had to call in and report trouble on the line to even get swbell to come out. After eventually speaking with a supervisor at swbell, a crew came out to finish the wiring outside (running a cable up the pole from the pedestal.) I went inside to check the modem (a Speedstream 5260) and saw that I had all green lights. Apparently everything was perfect until I started to use the connection. Accoring to the tests on DSLR, I was getting about 18k down and anywhere from 135 to 600k up. (not exactly right) After contacting ASI and jump.net about this, I was told an ASI tech would be out the next day to work on it. He determined that there was a bad line card in the remote terminal and he turned in a trouble ticket to swbell. Today, swbell either fixed something or changed the line card in the rt and now everything is working great. Rock solid 1100k down, 135k up connection!! Most of the problems mentioned here are not really jump.net's fault. I highly recommend them as an isp, they have great tech support which is very easy to get through to, and from what I can tell so far the routing on the connection is excellent. I can understand some of the order difficulty due to this being an rt order and the mess with the new cables outside. Overall, I'm very happy now with the connnection.

Is the only one that would give me service, all I can get is IDSL. A month after I placed my order for service I called to complain that I have not seen service yet. They claimed that the sales rep. had been sitting on it for all this time. When I asked a manager why he claimed that North Point was the hold up not them. When I asked North Point they blamed Jump.net. Not too thrilled about the run around. Once installed it has been great. Will hold out on keeping them or finding someone else.
I am concidering going to Road Runner because Jump.net can not get their billing shipped out in time to be payed by their due date. You have to wonder about a company that holds onto their bills for 5 days from the print day and stilll expects your to pay our bill in 15 days from print date. I have complaned with no effect!!!!!! Also I can get Road Runner for less than what I am paying for IDLS with Jump.net

After being burned by several other ISPs (see my other reviews), I was getting discouraged that I would ever find a decent ISP. Before signing up with Jump.net, I did some thorough research. I called thier tech support about 8 times over a two week period, at all hours of the day and night. Not only did I NEVER have to wait on hold, I never even had to listen to the complete "This call may be monitored..." recording. Every single time they answered before the recording was even complete! I also called billing several times and also got a quick response plus knowledgable answers from everybody I talked to. I ordered my service on 02/08/01. The installation was $99 (dedicated line), and the modem was $260, but they had a $200 instant rebate so the "drive-out" cost was about $160. SWBell came out about 1 1/2 weeks later to turn up the dedicated line, and IP.net came out today (02/27/01) to complete thier end. The SWBell tech had not completed his portion of the job (wow, imagine that), but the IP.net guys (two of them came out) were able to find and resolve the problem in a reasonable amount despite a malfunctioning meter. My modem (external BritePort bridge via Ethernet) came right online, and after renewing the IP address (DHCP) in my router (LinkSys BEFSR11), I was pulling down 1.2 - 1.3 Mbit speeds (I'm within spitting distance from the CO and was averaging about .8 - .9 Mbit with SWBell's circuit). For every step of the installation, I received an e-mail from Jump.net, an e-mail from IP.net and a phone call from IP.net. Jump.net's web-site also has some great account features like the ability to recover old e-mail messages, setup autoresponders/forwards, check billing status, usage statistics, web-site statistics, etc. Overall, I am thoroughly pleased and would reccomend thier service to everyone, especially after dealing with several of the alternatives. One major lesson I've learned from my DSL experiences is to test before you commit and remember it's a two part deal; circuit provider and ISP.

Initially I contacted Southwestern Bell and they yanked me around for a bit, then I called Jump.net and things went smoothly. After a month of Southwestern Bell messing things up, Jump.net stepped in and demanded that I be set up immediately. They really pressed Southwestern Bell and later that week I had an installation guy out to set up service. They messed that up too, and then left the line dangling three feet off the ground. Ever since Southwestern Bell has gotten out the picture, Jump.net has been sublime. I have only had two small problems, both of them happened in the dead of night and were fixed within minutes. No billing problems and I've changed billing options numerous times. Everyone I have spoken with has been polite, cheerful and understanding. The actual dsl performance has been even better then they quoted.
I just signed up for a second year.

SWBell install coordination was awful. Technician just showed up one day, and of course I wasn't home. Had to reschedule to later in the week and get time off from work when I wasn't expecting to (feared otherwise getting stuck at the back of the queue again).

We have 2 DSL circuits installed and managed by these guys and both have gone very well. Other than forgetting to call when the circuit was ready there has been nothing to complain about. I would recommend them to anyone who asks.

I ordered a 160k SDSL connection which was installed in less than two weeks. There was some initial problem with the configuration since we are using a bridge rather than a router, but tech support was fantastic. I have had nothing but great experiences with jump.net's tech support department whether it's an SDSL, web site or email problem and in a business environment the ability to contact them 24/7 is a big help. Thier prices are a bit higher than others, but if you can afford it, this is the ISP to go with!
