Value for money:

Some deals just cannot be beaten. I have been spending a long time trying to find a quality ISP for business in my area (Southeastern, PA). I have basically been searching for value and reliability (something that 56k hardly provides) in an Internet Connection for a home business. My location is too far from the local CO to get DSL. Cable doesn't grasp the reliability that a business needs. The prices of T1's and T3's are off the charts. IDSL and ISDN are too slow and expensive.

I thought my dilemma was inescapeable until I received an email from ICDC (which was currently my Dialup ISP) about a new local service called ICDC High-Speed Wireless. I've been powered by ICDC Dialup for about 7 years, so I know how reliable they are, and how good their customer service is. A combination of these with with Wireless Broadband is just too good of an idea.

ICDC Wireless is a perfect alternative (or should I say, replacement) to DSL, Cable, T1, or even T3. They use Line of Sight technology to broadcast data through radio waves, using technology recently released by the military. When I saw their price-list, I compared the speeds to T1, but saw the price of $99. Looked too good to be true, until I replied to their email and said I was interested in attempting the order process. Before you can order, you must be in sight of one of their local towers. The next day, I received a call about survey. Two days after the email, came to my house for the on-sight survey. Within ten minutes of their arrival to my house, they completed the survey and told me that I was qualified to get High-Speed Wireless.

I ordered the B3M-SYNC (1.5 download / 1.5 upload) business package (9/12/03). About a week after I ordered, they came to install. After they set up a small radio on my roof, they fed the connected Rj-45 (ethernet) cable to my office. Finally, they set up a d-Link router (which can provide in-home wireless also), and they configured everything. Within about two hours of their arrival, I was up on all of my machines.

The equipment charge was $300.

The monthly fee is $99.

The downloads and uploads are awesome, and after about a month of service, I haven't been down once (not even through hurricane Isabel). The quality of their service is unbeatable. Free web-hosting, static IP address, news, fast DNS, etc.

If you live in Southeastern PA...Consider ICDC Wireless!
