I signed up with Blue Wave when I moved into my condo and that is when the problems began. Back then they claimed to offer VoIP service and have the ability to port numbers from other providers. This wasn't the case and I tried to track them down for over a month. In addition I lost my SBC phone number that I had had for over 10 years because they weren't able to port my number. This should have been a clear indication of their level of service and honesty to deliver on their promises. I should have canceled my service with Blue Wave at this point. Instead I continued to pay them for their shoddy service and support. Over the coming months they would never contact me for service outages or other types 'customer service'. When changes need to be made either on the equipment in the building or elsewhere on the network, they simply interrupt the service. As an example when I first connected to their service it was via PPPoE, then unbeknownst to me they changed it to DHCP. Clearly this again caused a service interruption. I didn't learn this from them mind you, I couldn't get a call back from them so I manually switched connection methods. Earlier this year they had a service outage that lasted 1 week. No, that wasn't a typo, 1 week without service. Let this be a warning to you that this company is an absolute joke and they have the worst customer service I've ever experienced. It's ironic that on their website they claim to strive for customer service due to customers' negative experiences with large ISPs. The Better Business Bureau should be contacted about them. If you're still in doubt just give them a call at 1-888-877-BLUE (2583). You'll go straight to a voice mail box...some customer support.

I called up blue wave on a whim and was very impressed with what they were offering. I was a little bit concerned about the size of the company, but decided to take the plunge. That was my first mistake. I had close to a month before I was moving into this apartment so speed of getting the service setup was not that important. I decided to go with their combined Internet and VOIP service. They came out and did a site survey and everything was all set. They installed the antenna a few days later and found some other company was using their part of the spectrum in my area. They were very sorry that this may cause a delay and offered me some very big discounts such as three months free Internet and six months free Phone service. They told me to go ahead and get comcast Internet service for the short term until they could get it worked out. I moved in, got the comcast and then scheduled a time for them to setup my VOIP which is not dependent on their phone service. We scheduled a time and they blew me off entirely. I called the phone number and talked to Antony (the only guy I had talked to the entire time.) He said he was very sorry and would have someone out the next day. Nobody showed up. Naturally I can't get ahold of anyone on the weekends since they only have one phone number and it rings Antony. Finally, he calls me back on Monday, apologizing again and offers to drop off the equipment at my work. He drops off the equipment and i take it home to setup. It's pretty easy - you plug it into a switch and then open a few ports on the firewall. I did all this and could not get any inbound calls. I called the only phone number available and got ahold of Antony who said he would have a technician call me that night. No call. I then proceeded to call and email Antony about three to five times a day. No responses. After about a week of that I threated to cancel my service if it was not fixed in the next few days. No response to any of the phone or emails. I then leave a message to cancel the service on Antony's voicemail. He sends me an email the next day saying sorry it didn't work out. I'll pick up the equipment soon.

DO NOT SUBJECT YOURSELF TO THIS COMPANY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.

Unbelievably poor customer service and support.

I was all set to go with SBC when I came across BlueWave. I called up BlueWave and set up service for Internet and VOIP. The guy said someone would go to my place the next day to do a site survey, then they would get permission to put up the antenna, and I'd be set to go. A week later I hadn't heard anything so I called up, and was informed that someone already looked at my place, and I could positively get service, and all they were waiting for was the OK from my landlord. Almost another week later, I had to call again. They said they would bug my landlord and get it going that day. The next day I call back, and the guy says its ok to set up an install date. So I set one up for three days later, the next day another guy calls, hes outside my place. So I let him up on the roof one minute, and he comes down to tell me that I cant get it, too many trees. I look out my window again to make sure that nobody planted a tree, nope no trees. The guy said that I would not get a good signal and there was nothing to do about it. I'm know that they are based only about 6 blocks from me, and that I'm on the fourth floor of an apt. building with only small single family homes around.

I called the main guy back the next day, but of course he didnt' pick up the phone or return my call. I was and am confused as to how someone can at one point tell me that somebody checked it out and I can definitely get service, and during install time, the service not work.

It was a waste of two weeks and a lot of frustration. Not to mention that now Im stuck with the even better customer service of SBC.

Either their antennas (the three I was told were real close to me) are really weak, or they are not too interested in customer service. Regardless, BlueWave is a small startup that is not worth the waste of time you will spend dealing with them.

We were all set to go with SBC dsl when the BWN sales rep paid us a call. We went with their program because the speed was the same and the price was a few bucks less per month. We were thrilled when they had us up and running the next day. We got static IP, good web hosting and helpful tech advice. I would highly recommend these guys.

Worst service and customer service ever

I agree with the last 2 posts that this is the worst company I have ever dealt with and they should be reported to the BBB. The oldest posts here, from 2003-2004 list favorable reviews and I will admit when I signed up in 2004 I was very happy with the service. But it has gone severely downhill this whole year, and as of right now I haven't had working internet for 1 month. And the 3 months prior to that it was slower than dial up or not working at all.

They never answer their phone, and now it has been disconnected. What kind of business disconnects their phone?! And it forwards to a suburban 847 area code and that one just rings for eternity with no voicemail at all. I leave messages on their 888 toll free number and they never call back. They still take my $20 out of my bank account every month, while providing no service at all! And it is true that there was a failure in service for one whole week earlier this year, though I was thinking it was closer to 10 days.

My email fails sporadically, and the longest it was down was 10-14 days. Imagine, having no email at all for almost 2 weeks!! Think of all the missed communication! That was my main email address. And who knows if they even saved all the messages that were coming in. Sometimes friends mention to me that they sent me something and I never received it.

This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. I really have to wonder if they aren't scam artists who packed up their bags and left town while still drawing our subscription fees from our bank accounts.

DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE unless you feel like flushing your money down the toilet and getting no service at all.
