Sutton,Caledonia,VT
Contract price not specified.
"VERY very VERY slow"
"not much faster than dialup"

Speed is near dialup most of the day. I dont understand why this service is so slow. I mean..I know why(not enough bandwidth) but not sure why they dont upgrade??

The worst thing is there is no other WISP serving this area...so your stuck with what you have unless you go with Sat, which I HIGHLY recommend doing. The speeds with Kingdom Wireless are even getting worse as time goes on. I just dont get it.....

We went with kingdom conn a while back and were loving it for a good while, that is untill they oversold the line. The speeds are now constantly around 200kbps and below, and the service fluctuates like you wouldn't believe. At first we were told that the reason our internet was so slow was due to "leaves". Thats right, there was one tree top in between our antenae and theirs and it was blamed for dropping the signal down to 200 kbps when we are paying 80$+ a month to get 512K. So we waited for the leaves to fall, and nothing changed. And we tested it in all weather conditions and nothing changed. Only at around 1 am at night does the line free up. Now unless the magical internet fairy goes around and grants bandwith wishes to people at 1 am i'm guessing the increased bandwith is due to people getting off their computers. Now I would not have a problem if they had aknowledged this to us, but insofar we have heard nothing. I used to love this connection and now I am sad to even say i'm forced to use it. And yes, I'm forced to use it because there are no other high speed (if you can even call it that) ISP's in the area. My internet is provided off of the top of Burke mountain, and we can see the antena clear as day. Now I ask kingdom conn to fess up and at least notify their customers to the fact that they have oversold their line and caused a general lack in respect by all.

Barton,Orleans,VT
$69 per month (12 month contract)
"Wireless Just Flies"
"Now I know what High Speed Internet is all About"

Value for money:

Hi folks, I have been using a new WISP ie., Kingdom Connections, in Barton
VT 05822, since July of this year.
That makes it about four (4) months. The WISP is a 900 Mhz wireless using
WaveRider equipment. I subscribed to an up to 1024 kbps up and down service.
During this time my average speeds using all four (4) speed test sites ie.,
NJ Net Access and Megapath, LinkLine and Speak Easy CA are as follows; 893
kbps Down and 809 kbps Up. This average is based on four (4) tests per day
ie., one from each test site listed, during the four (4) month period. I periodically get speeds of over 1000 kbps, both ways !.
There has only been one (1) "semi-outage" problem due to a lightning strike
and a failed or destroyed lightning arrestor at the remote antenna site. The connection was not completely gone but, slow and intermittent. I
was the one who "flagged it" and the WISP had the problem corrected within
the day. Other than that, there has been only one (1) problem with the SMTP
email server. That problem was also corrected within a day.
Based on that data I would say that the service is very reliable and
performs as advertised. My conversations with both the WISP President and
his technical support people have shown then to be courteous, professional
and technically competent. I would definitely recommend this service to
other users in the Barton VT area.
If you need additional information please do not hesitate to contact me.
