When I found out that our new home could have FTTH I was most happy.
But what I got is Speakeasy DSL at 2000Kbps up and down.

Yes there is all the FTTH goodies hanging on my house but when it leaves
home I guess it goes to some other company? And this IS the best in town.

Four weeks from sign up to being on line is not good business. Telling people
that they have FTTH when it is really DSL is not good business.

    DSL or T1

are you sure it's DSL and not bonded T1 that is actually from Speakeasy?

And they're not lying. They're actually using FTTH as the last mile to you. They just didnt say how it got to the Internet. But your problem with the bandwidth provider could be with any. Some use AT$T Business for T1s. The fact is they have to by the bandwidth from someone.

I got that from the front page of BBR here.

I can walk into the tech support office of my Ip
and talk face to face with the techs. What should I ask?

I get 2000 Kps up and down, But that seems just like
DSL to me. BTW this is uber rural here.

"Service is reliable, tech support is good, and they are upgrading to a fractional ds3"
"Downloads are sometimes a little slow"
"It's better than dialup and one of the best offerings in the area"

First of all I have 650/246 service. It comes with a 200 dollar installation fee ( which they are currently waiving ), and a 50 dollar monthly fee. Ordering was easy, and it took about 7 days to have it installed. The installation took about 2 hours, and the techs were friendly, and curteous. I would reccomend it to anyone who wanted high speed internet. It has been reliable and the speed has been pretty decent. The speeds are a little slow at times but they should be getting better, because they are supposed to be upgrading to a fractional Ds3.
