Ordered around the end of November, 384 up and down, at 195$ a month.
I had just recently moved into a new construction condo, and my address was not in anyone's databases yet, but that did not stop Atlantech. First they asked me for a phone bill, but I had not received one, so the worked with Covad some more... I ended up sending a map, thanks to Dave in service and Eric, the order was put in with little delay.

On the day Covad came out, things went very smoothly, until the tech got to some weird conflicts with the IP's. After calling Covad, he gave Atlantech a buzz and they quickly supplied him with the correct info, and my DSL was up and running right away!

After about a week of use I have not had any problems... everything is working great.

It was great to get Customer Service that was just that... I felt as though they would do what ever was needed to get me up and running... not just putting me in the problem folder and forgetting about it.
    THANKS ATLANTECH!!

I did my research on Atlantech before selecting them, and they lived up to my expectations. They had a great rebate offer running (still running until January I think) and a very simple contract process.

The time to live was around 30 days. I think most of that delay was due to the BA/Verizon strike, but my line was put in soon after the strike ended. However, I didn't get a call from BA before their guy showed up, had to leave work in the middle of the day (not sure who is responsible for that mix-up). I think that could have been prevented with a call or email to Atlantech to follow-up on the scheduling.

Service has been great. After getting the setup info from Atlantech I had the system up and running. BTW, I'm running the DSL bridge into a Linksys Router/4 Port Switch and Linksys 8 Port Hub connected to a CAT5 network in a group house. After tweaks from DSL Reports I'm running at nearly 90% of advertised speeds (608/128). Currently I have a dynamic IP, but they have allowed me to upgrade to a static part way through my contract for an additional monthly charge. Great flexibility!

Customer service is excellent. Email responses come back within 24 hours and representatives are friendly and helpful.

Summary: Atlantech has provided excellent service, and even if they are not the cheapest, I would definitely give them the best value for the dollar with their excellent customer service and response time.

I called in late July to find out about getting SDSL to my new house in Rockville. My salesperson John informed me that I was too far away from the CO to get the speed I wanted, which was 768up/down. I decided on 384 SDSL and Atlantech placed my order in early August. Within two days, I had an FOC date from Verizon, explaining that they would be at my house on the 11th of August to install the first portion of the DSL line. Two days before the 11th, Verizon went on strike. There goes my FOC!! THANKS FOR NOTHING, VERIZON!!

The strike lasted almost three weeks, causing my FOC date to be pushed back until further notice. About a week after the strike was over, I called Atlantech and Dave in service told me that my order was on hold with all the others because of the strike, but expected it to be back in process within a week or so. I waited and received a couple of calls over the next two weeks from Atlantech stating that Verizon was seeing a "busy port" issue and it needed to be resolved. My order was in this state for a good amount of time when Atlantech's service department told me that they would re-enter my order in. They did and within another week, I received another FOC date scheduled for early October.

Well, my FOC came and I took the whole day off work and guess what? Verizon didn't show up. No surprise there. They were probably too overworked from standing on the side of the road drinking coffee all day. I called Atlantech fuming mad, though I know it wasn't their fault. They contacted Covad and Covad got me another FOC the following Friday. Stayed home from work that day, too. Guess what? Another Verizon no-show. So, another FOC date came and went. But, third time's a charm, right? I received another FOC date the next Friday and stayed home from work again. This time, they finally showed up. They installed the first part of my line and stated that Covad would be by later the following week to finish up the installation.

To make a long story short (too late for that!), Covad came out and installed me and I'm up and running just fine! I get on average, 350 to 360Kb/s downloads on some sites, so I'm not complaining!

144 Up and Down. Intial problems with Bell Atlantic/Northpoint. Once we were on with Atlantech, Eric Van Tol provided top notch support to ensure that we were connected and happy with our service. It's nice to call an ISP and IMMEDIATELY speak with a tech, and get the right answers the first time!!

"I've heard all the horror stories. None here. Atlantech Online and Covad did a great job."

The sales staff at Atlantech was very helpful in explaining their programs, their network and the process for ordering DSL. They warned me that, sometimes, the installation can be rocky so I was very pleased when it went rather smoothly. They did a great deal to help transfer my domain name and set up my e-mail. They also gave me the name of a great company to set up my network.

I never knew that Bell Atlantic came in to set up the line. A few hours before Covad came, Atlantech called to let me know they were coming that day. I would have liked more notice but there was no problem. When Covad came, they set everything up but the connection from our floor to the phone room 7 floors below. The problem was that building management would not let them in the room for more than 5 minutes because it was the end of the day.

When we could not get up, I called Dave Clesner at Atlantech and he quickly set-up a follow-up date a few days later. He called and sent an e-mail regarding the date they would be coming back again. On that day, Covad came out and got us up and running. It has been quite smooth and very professionally handled by all parties.

I have spoken to their tech support people on issues regarding my domain name transfer and they have always been patient and very helpful. I strongly recommend Atlantech Online if you want DSL or any other service. The bottom line is that they respond to their customers and I appreciate that, especially after dealing with Bell Atlantic all these years.

    Ordered: 608/128 (received 512/108)

It certainly wouldn't be accurate to say that my set-up for DSL was quick and painless. On the contrary, Bell Atlantic ("BA") missed at least a half-dozen appointments only to go on strike right after establishing a "new commitment date." Even Covad who, by most accounts is responsive and prompt, failed to take much initiative in completing the order. The details are not particularly unique: BA failed to show up so many times that a new order was placed and, though they responded to the new order, Covad and BA could never coordinate with each other well enough to figure out any of my repeated problems, i.e. failed provisioning, multiple IP addresses, intermittent connectivity, shorts at the CO, inconsistent Harris test results, etc....

The only light at the end of the tunnel was Atlantech.

I know these guys well, all of them: Dave, Chris, Robert, Ted, Charles, Steve, et al. Believe it or not, when you call Atlantech an actual person answers the phone. They consistently acted in my best interests--calling BA and Covad, on average, twice a day for over six months. They stayed late when we thought BA would show up. Atlantech set me up with dial-up account when connectivity was inconsistent. They were often apologetic though, in truth, none of my problems could fairly be attributed to them. Atlantech has its hands tied between Covad, BA and, now, Northpoint.

From what I understand--no matter which ISP one chooses--BA has to do work at the Central Office and that it is the source of most delays. Atlantech dealt with it as best as they could. I would have given up months earlier if not for these guys.

I give them my thanks, even though my set-up took forever. As far as I'm concerned, BA, Covad and the Federal Communications Commission have a lot to learn from these guys. If you're lucky enough to be in their service area (which, unfortunately, means you're unlucky enough to be in BA's clutches) they're the only ones worth calling.

CLEC party: Covad
"Customer Service, Treated respectfully"
"Lack of communication"
"Not for California"
Pre Sales information:

Attention South Pasadena Residents, please leave data for others. :^) I wish there was more to depend on or rely on for information in our area.

Aug.16,2000-Ordered Telesurfer 608/128 service. Received fast communications by e-mail and phone. Receieved a bill about a week later for almost $250. Later received an e-mail with ip configuration data from Atlantech and then one from their reseller (Zyan), their local contact. So far so good.

End of Aug.-Called to find out status of loop check. As I found out Pacbell does not offer services in this area. Too bad. So I wanted to make sure I was actually getting DSL. Knew of a person who uses PacBell and so based on that, would use them even though so many bad reviews are given on DSLreports. I guess you have to consider most people complain more than compliment. So consider that as well as the subscriber size of Pacbell, so you do tend to see more negative then positive. Another note is that several have mentioned that the business lines do tend to have all the positive marks. Is there some sort of mistreatment to the lower rate plans? The pacbell dsl user I know is on the higher plan....hmmm..... maybe that's an issue to address to the state to watch and examine. :^)

Anyways, they informed me that the date for loop check has not been made. Due to Verizon strike. My phone is with Pacbell so funny how that would affect me? So they said they would fix that and look into it. THey said it would take two weeks before an appointment would be made and then two weeks after loop check before I would get the official DSL connection. I was looking at past the 30 day mark they told me it would take. I was disappointed, but understanding and knowledge is power. I would stay patient, 56k use for a little longer is worth the wait.

Sept.27-Today I decided that since there has been no contact or communications from them, it would mean things are going smoothly. I called prepared to cancel as I suspected that their service was not up to par for the amount of money and expect downtimes of DSL in the future to come. I requested a refund for the amount I paid a month ago for service, installation, or appointments never attempted, completed, or used. They said they wanted to check the account. I was upset, but tried to keep my composure. They spoke well on the phone was glad they didn't get me upset for their lack of service. I am sure they are a good company and have had good reviews, but out here in the west coast, they just aren't able to keep the ties with the customers that is required by DSL subscribers as shown in the reviews.

They wanted to keep me on and said that as of Sept. 11, they found out that the wrong CO was being used. I thought I would have waited if they would have informed me of that at the time, but since I called to cancel and not to find out the status, they had missed their chance.

I guess I will never know how Atlantech/Zyan would have done, but I wish the best of luck to others in my area should they decide to take this route. Earthlink, Flashcom have already lost their mark in our area.

I think I will try cable connection and see how that goes. They offer month to month contracts, moneyback 30 day trial, free equipment use, and only $45.00. I guess that's it for DSL for me until DSL industry can get back up to par on customer service, deliverytime, service, and price plans.

Good luck to everyone else with the dsl ventures.

Value for money:

I currently manage systems using five different DSL or cable broadband connections from four different ISPs and I have past experiece with several other ISPs. Atlantech tech support is superior to any other in one way that is very important to me. Namely, Atlantech never wastes my time by screening, pre-qualifying, or otherwise impeding delivery of my question to a knowledgeable person. Every single time I have called Atlantech, the first person I talked to was someone with a broad and deep and current understanding of network data communication. Sometimes my questions are simple, but sometimes they are really consultant-level architectural questions. Invariably, the first person I talk to, provides an intelligent response to my question. To me, that counts a lot.

Yes, it's true that Atlantech tech support keeps bankers hours. Yes, there is no tech support on weekends. Yes, I usually have to leave word for someone to call me back. But the fact that the person who does call me back (usually within the hour) knows what he's talking about, far outweighs all those other limitations. That's because the problem gets resolved just as quickly with Atlantech as any of the other ISP -- and without me waiting in call queues and answering stupid questions that some know-nothing is reading from a computer screen designed to help fools pose as tech support personnel.

Atlantech offers some competitive prices, but the sales guys are not enthusiastic about selling them to you. Generally, the sales guys at Atlantech are not as sharp as their tech support colleagues, but they're as good as most other ISPs. I recently subscribed to Atlantech/Covad DSL service at my home and learned to my chagrin that it comes with a non-routeable IP address. Atlantech provides network address translation, which of course makes it impossible for me to reach my home computer from anywhere else on the Internet. The sales guys didn't tell me about that, because they didn't have the foggiest understanding of the difference between a non-routeable IP and a dynamic IP. This was true of the general sales manager, though I imagine someone has explained it to him by now.

    Ordered 1/384(but on www.atlantech.net 1.5/384) 1 static IP

I gave 4 stars for pre-sale because, the sales rep. didn't tell me much about the service. It was kind of Yes/No type.

They did real good job on co-ordination though. I was waiting for Covad(My window time was 12-5pm, I came home early for that though) for 2 hours and I had to go back to work(It really good to have a job close to your house.. ),I called Atlantech and after about 10min, Covad dispatch called me back and told me about the status on technician. Connection reliability..hmmmmmm...I didn't get an IP from Atlantech until they close for the day. I caught this customer support person right at the moment when he was about to leave for the day. He gave me the IP, but no Gateway, DNS, or Subnet mask..Nothing just an IP addy.

They have those addresses on their web site but it doesn't work somehow..

I had to figure it out by myself. Once I got connected, BAM! IT IS FAST!! It's kicking stupid @Home cable's @$$.. Anyhow..Everything is working fine so far..just that NEWS server is very slow..I'm getting 128kbps..and no email setup yet..very low latency to GW..10ms..DNS..10ms..Downloading MS Windows 2000 SP1(almost 90MB), It was doing 160K bytes/s constantly. MSN line testing is showing me that my line speed is 1310.2Kbps, 160K bytes/s. DSLreports.com is showing me samething..1306(down)/330(up) kbps.
