Hi!
I use the Bell Atlantech 640k (downlink)/90k (uplink) residential service with Atlantech Online as my service provider. OVerall I'm rather happy with them but, as a company, there are few rough spots.
The Good:
Highly compitant Tech Staff
When open, the tech staff is responsive and returns calls promtly
Well versed in trouble shooting e-mail problems
No extra fee for e-mail re-direct to my iname accounts
ISP account free for 6moths after first 3 months of service
Low rate for extra IP and e-mail box
IP address has not changed in 4 months since servie began.
I usualy get around 400-600k xfer speed - more than most websites can handle
service supports reverse-dns so that I don't have problems downloading secure stuff from Microsoft, Sun, or netscape
The Bad:
News and Email service is quite slow.
Several times I've had outages that only lasted a few minutes to several hours but never recived email from their tech staff indicating what happened
I use a personal firewall and the tech staff has been rather surly when asked to explain odd behaviour of their network and when asked to assist in setting up my softwere to work with their network
Tech support only available 9-5 EST workdays.
All in all I'm happy with the service, but then I'm a tech myself and don't really need the extra mail or nntp service. YMMV
