Wave Broadband took over the local cable business in Cerritos and upgraded the system for high speed internet. After I heard about it, I signed up right away. We never had cable in our house before (over the air antenna worked fine), so the installation was more complicated. They had to schedule a construction crew to bore underground conduit for our house (before that, they had to do a site survey so they don't hit the gas line!). Anyway, they finally got it done and didn't charge us an exorbitant amount of money.
Next came the inside wiring. The installer, Joe, was very professional. He did a nice clean job and even worked through pouring rain to get it done. The only hiccup to service turn up was the shiny new Motorola Surfboard modem that I bought. Wave broadband's head office in Washington advised me that I can use any DOCSIS2 compliant cable modem. This is not true, for the Cerritos area network, only their own cable modem worked. Which in this case, turned out to be a Scientific Atlanta DPC2100 model. But anyways, I didn't want to wait any more so I agree to lease the modem from them for a few dollar more a month. Plug that in, and it all worked smoothly.
Nominally the plan I ordered is 8mbps down /768kbps up.
This is cable so the speed can vary more than DSL connections. When it's good, it's very good. Up to 10mbps for downloads. Most of the time, it sways between 2mbps and 8 mbps. Still way faster than my old DSL line, which costed about the same.
768 kbps upload seemed pretty consistent.
Pings to google.com is about 60ms on average.
In my 1 1/2 month of usage experience I had to reset the modem 3 times. But it always came back to full speed right away. A minor annoyance at this point. I'll keep monitoring it.
So far I am pretty satisfied with the service. I am glad Wave came out to give Verizon some healthy competition.

Wave has provided excellent service from the get go. I had to wait five days for the modem to arrive but from then on it was smooth sailing. I had some issues when I signed up for vonage (VOIP), but phone tech support from Wave had me running in minutes. I signed up for the the advertised speed of 4000/384 and they are consistantly in the high 3800/4450 down and usually 360 up. This speed works great with vonage (VOIP) service and we have had no additional issues. This service is much better then Verizon DSL or EarthLink DSL which we had for a couple of years. We had issue with both service because they could not provide the service they advertised and we paid for which was 1500 down and 128 up. The most they could provide was 750(650) down and 128 up. I would not recommend Verizon or EarthLink to anyone in the Stanwood Area.

Update. Now a power user at 6000/728. Great speeds, still pretty pricey, but at least I fell better that I'm getting what I pay for. There are still times during high volume evening periods where the speed will drop to approx 3M down but the latency is, in general, pretty stable.
Been a cable user through the whole @Home, Charter, and now Wavecable evolution. I've got to say Wave is by far the best experience of the bunch. They were a little slow with upgrading their speed but now at 3000/256. Latency is also pretty good. It's nice to get a local person when you call into tech support, they are very friendly and willing to work with you. Bad part is they don't have 24hr support but their hours are reasonable. They seem a little pricey @ 49.00/month but don't really have any other choices where I live except satellite. Overall very satisfied.

Since I was a former Charter Communications customer (Business-level service, only because I needed static IPs), I cannot comment on install. They now have pricing information for their business service online, and the prices have come down significantly since the Charter days.
Where Wave is out-of-line in terms of prices is with static IPs. $15 for a static. Give me a break. Qwest charges $15 for a block of 5 (usable) on a subnet no less. They are also out of line in terms of requiring a 2 year agreement for the prices they advertise on their site. Otherwise, you can expect to pay $20 more per month for a 1-year agreement. Technology can change quite a bit in 2 years time. I do not want to be locked into a price point and service level that doesn't make sense down the road.
Many things you think an ISP like Wave would automate, for example provisioning static IPs or changing reverse DNS entries should be something you can change via a web portal. Not with Wave. It requires a phone call, and that assumes the person who answers the phone knows where to route you.
It is clear to me that Wave has more or less bolted on extra speeds and IP addresses to a consumer-level service. There has been little thought to providing business-level customer service.

Had Wave Broadband installed on Saturday the 22nd of Jan and I haven't been happy yet. My tests showed 600 down and 92 up. Anf that is for the 3m down 256 up. Waiting for tech on Friday to see what the deal is. Will probably go to SL if this can't be sloved.

Installed 2 hours after I called them. Very good install no problems.
Speed has dropped considerably from 1800/484 to 1400/200.. I sent multiple email to tech services and call them still no answer.
I need higher upload speed for my ip softphone and applications.
Will probably drop and look somewhere else because of the higher prices and low speeds.

Quick install (got luckly as already had Wave cable)
Am getting about 1400 down and 240 up sure beats that dialup thing. I am sure I will be getting better with a bit of tweaking.
Not happy either about paying $3 per month for the cable modem, got it as part of the monthly fees before Yes I could have bought one, but about $75 for one and the fact that if anything goes wrong with it they take care of it.The charge for the install which wasd $60, which was nothing to it. Just wish that they had told me that if I could put cable together I could have done it, sure the installer (nice guy) may have needed to climb a pole or drilled some holesbut that was'nt the case. Noticed that I don't have the correct (good) splitter for when the tv arrives so guess I will get something to call them about.
Wave while a bit slower and more $ still ok in my books. Cost is $50 per month. Just moved here from Hawaii which is cable broadband heaven. Had RoadRunner which has spoiled me for speed as well as price. Got 3500/450 speed average at $40 per month.
Wave had better hope that none of the big cable co. like RR or Comcast come this way

Thanks Wave Broadband. Verizon has been screwing around saying "DSL is coming!", but they lost. Wave Broadband beat them to it. I live in a rural area...I mean RURAL and WB has managed to get cable ran out this far. Everything went perfect. The install guy was quick, the speeds are exactly as advertised.
Customer service was really friendly and motivated
Dynamic IP (for now) Modem was 75 bucks.
Update: They upgraded to 3.0Mb/s 4 downtimes since initial review. Speed 3.0/ 28.6 Thanks!

After reading reviews for WAVE I was wary, but I had to get something FAST...dsl was taking too long to hook up. I had qwest, but was not happy with the latency so I wanted to switch ISP's. I was going over to Earthlink dsl from qwest, but found out that Earthlink uses qwest, so the service would be the same. And since it took a while, I jumped at the chance of WAVE offering $19 for 3 months. I'm a happy camper....its working very well. I get 1400 down, 200 up speeds
