Ease of Installation:
Value for money:
OK Guys, so I order OV and got it installed on June 25, 2004. All I have to say is that it's a great service.
The boriqua tech came thru, hooked up the SB4200 and took away my little cute 5100.
Well... upon installation and after the tech LEFT, I realized that the sevrice did not work. (VERIZON D/T still there) THAT IS, until I found out that he hooked the worng phone wire to the modem.
I hooked everything up successfully, and got a dialtone. I was left with such a NASTY UGLY number: (347) 365-4516 I could not stomach to look at it or give it out, but I had to.
There were never any outages during the week I had it, and 555-1212 worled perfectly and without charge.
BUT, Being that I NEVER INTENDED to keep the service, it was suppose to be a 30 days trial, but when I received my bill, CV had charged me: $34.95 + $6.99 for partial service. Needless to say I was not a happy camper, since it was supposed to be FREE/TRIAL for 30 days..
That wasn't bad enough. Remember that UGLY number I told you about?WELL as soon as the tech showed me the number, I thought to myself, "OH HELL NO"!
Calling OV Support rendered no help in getting the number changed and I was not going to be stuck with a shitty number that I DID NOT LIKE/WANT and pay $35.00 for this service. NO WAY!
even giving the number to people rendered responses like: "EWWWWWW, that's a nasty number", and "WHY do you have a 347 number for your home phone"?
ANYWAY, Being that I knew I was not going to keep the service, earlier I had gone between Packet8 and Lingo for VOIP service and I settled on Packet8.
So, while I was testing out OV, I was waiting on my P8 DTA. Once I received my DTA and got it working correctly, I immediate;y called up CV to get rid of OV and to get a credit for the "FREE" service.
OVERALL, The OV is a great service, but the lack of being able to change the number unless you are being HARRASSED, or stalked, is GOING TO BE OV downfall! PLUS, why would I pay $35.00 for something I CAN GET FOR $19.99 A MONTH? THE SAME SERVICE....YOU TELL ME!
Other than that, GREAT SERVICE, TOO EXPENSIVE, NOT FOR ME!
And you know these greedy Cable Companies are not going to lower ANY RATES...ONLY INCREASE THEM!
So while I and other smart peoplel are paying $19.99, CABLE people will be paying 50.00 next year for their OV...LOLOLOLOLOLOLLLLLLLLLLL
NOW i'VE GOT A SWEET 718-208-**22 NUMBER AND i'M HAPPPPYYYYYYY!
